Is this a topic for the German name Doppelkabine, or in general for the crew cabs?

The whole thread is neither for the German Doppelkabine nor for all crew cabs, "just" for all vehicles that could be wrongly listed in the IMCDb
But the post above is indeed specifically about the German Doppelkabine.

At first, marketed as a pick-up with a cabin of choice, later the doka as a model of its own. Except for the 1960 brochure - that is the exception to the rule.

So due to my researches in thesamba.com and vw-t2-bulli.de, apparently confirmed by what you say (if not coming from the same sources  ), my question remains: according to all this, should we identify all of them as Doppelkabine or keep the 1960-62 models with the Pritshenwagen part?

I recently found out this old Chevy pickup which I originally thought was as old as a 1962, was more specifically a 1966:

I stand corrected, if I've mixed up the words topic/thread/post then I now know better. Yet there is no need to make me look like an a**, thank you, I'm capable of that myself, if that is my goal. I did notice the 17 other pages filled with comments. Or, with posts, if you prefer.

For the cars, I feel you should keep Pickup/Pritschenwagen (or whatever local name) for the first years, for 1963+ you could use Doka/Crew Cab/Double Cab as a seperate model. Please note, this should not be an issue just for the German cars.

I don't think that was the purpose of his reply. I also first misinterpreted your post, but didn't comment as I was unsure (I guessed you meant "does the question apply to VW, German vehicles or to all vehicles?")

My apologies, my point wasn't to make you look like anything/anyone special. I was really tired that day and should obviously not have tried any kind of humor, even if I really thought it inconsequential and without any preconceived idea, at that time...

[...] I feel you should keep Pickup/Pritschenwagen (or whatever local name) for the first years, for 1963+ you could use Doka/Crew Cab/Double Cab as a seperate model. [...]

Despite the 1960 document showing also the Doppelkabine name?

I didn't dig for the non-German Dokas for now, so let's have it on the todo list

It is just one document?
It is not like all advertisings/catalogues were using that name

Pritschenwagen mit... for the 1961 & 1962 models without problem, but I am still somewhat divided over the 1960 model year, as I found 2 documents using the 2 contradictory ways of calling the Doka (see the concerned post)

Let's make it Pritschenwagen mit... for 1960 (by default), 1961 and 1962, and Doppelkabine only for the following years?
At least for the German models: the few I saw while searching German literature led me to think that the logic of the sales names was different in some other languages.

I think it will be easier to do that, it is already complicated enough with the change of name in 63, no need a different one just for 60

Known for now as VĂ©loSoleX 2200 and 3300 in the IMCDb, these mopeds should apparently have an S in front of their model name:

No change needed for the predecessors (1400, 1700 & co.) nor for the successors (3800, 5000...), however:

Why are these 27 Jeeps identified as "Universal", with their model name (CJ-x) used as model/chassis code? A remnant of the beginning of the IMCDb?

Good question. Possibly it is indeed like how were listed cars like "Chevrolet Custom [C-10]"
However the naming of Jeep was not very clear for older models at some times.
Jeep was not always really the make, and the CJ-something was not always mentioned as model name, Universal was the civilian name.

I was already aware of the "make problem", and had similar discussions with 4x4peru on other pages... Does anyone mind if I "reallocate" these pages to the corresponding categories?

Done!
I took the opportunity to clean a bit the Brazilian models. See here for explanations about the name (Willys without Overland, Jeep without CJ-5) and the possible model years (1955 or 1962).

The single 1966 identification is due to bob dieck, but the linked "source" is a forum in which the contributors seem more to say that they're unsure of it, for me... Should we really keep this MY?

About Volvo's US truck division:
The Volvo White company (1981 to 1987) sold apparently its vehicles as White trucks, so nothing has to be changed for them:
http://i.imgur.com/ZBrBRrf.jpg

But the vehicles from the 1988-96 division (Volvo GM Heavy Truck corporation) were promoted as WHITEGMC models, not as White/GMC like done for now in the IMCDb. Shouldn't we use the same way of writing?

Or, as that could sound like a lot of capital letters, WhiteGMC?

On Wikipedia they mention "Volvo WhiteGMC" as make, but we could indeed use "WhiteGMC" rather than "White/GMC". The "/" was maybe added because there is a big one on the grille

Volvo WhiteGMC was never used as make, I'm afraid that the WP page is another one written without checking...
But as the brochures show indeed Volvo and WhiteGMC together (but usually with WhiteGMC at first, see the pictures in the previous post), this could explain the mistake...

The accurate company name was Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corparation, and the 2 makes sold by it were Volvo and WhiteGMC:
