Yes, the Mirage is a sad little car. At least Britain is spared the Outrage or whatever it's called.

Looks like my new find is not as new as i thought...
what is more depressing is the 78 HP engine... i know it's not meant to be a sport car but even the old Echo had more than a 100 . i think the sedan was brought to North America to help ( at least try to ) the sales which are not that great .

Hatchback looks better than the pre-facelift one ( to me ) . Not saying that they are awesome cars, in fact they probably look better than they are... but a few probably will made their way in movies as background vehicles...

It wouldn't be so ugly if the beltline didn't go upwards to the rear of the car. Because of that, the rear door windows are narrower, and the "window to metal" ratio is way off, making the car seem taller than it already is.

So Skoda is trademarking several of it's model names with the US, eyeing a possible return to North American markets. They will decide next year. So far they have registered the Yeti, Octavia, Superb and its vRS sport trim level. Skoda was lsat in the US until the early 1960s and Canada in the 1990s.

Would be nice to have them back, the vehicles are very nice ( saw a few, not in real life of course but on tv in international ice hockey tournaments ) except maybe the Yeti ( not really liking the round lights it has in night cub's link )

Someone posted the pic of a convertible Land Rover Evoque concept vehicle here ( or on the main site, i don't remember ) but it looks like it made it to production and comes here somewhere in 2016 as 2017 MY vehicle http://www.landrover.ca/en/vehicles/range-rover-evoque/convertible/index.html

I'm saying somewhere in 2016 because in the french version of the Land Rover website, they say spring 2016 ....

but i can't find the 3-door anymore .. gone ?

For the convertible : " the production version was revealed in November 2015, while the model years start from 2017 " (wikipedia)
That explains why I thought it was already available, as I saw it in a auto TV show in end of 2015

Not "soon in movies", but "no longer seen" models, as the South-Korean government banned 80 Volkswagen and Audi models after the emissions cheating scandal.
Among other models, no 2017 Tiguan or Golf nor Audi A3 or A6 in Korean movies (or movies shot over there)...
_____

Out of topic, but it appears that almost every Volkswagen car sold since 1995 can easily be remotely unlocked without a VW key. Hard times for Wolfsburg's company...

This is nothing new. So back in the 70ies and 80ies there weren't also any different key-profiles per car maker (actually there are only a few companies, which produce keys and locks for the car industry).

It happened to my father back then, that on a supermarket parking he opened a 1977 manilagrün Audi 80 and thought "Err, something is different here. My car smells different. And it doesn't have such seat covers" - because it was not his Audi. This stood one line behind

In the mid-80ies some guys in Denmark have found out, that you could open a third of all German made Ford with a thin faked aluminium "key", send by Readers Digest" in a advertising letter :ddr555:
I think, I have this "key" still somewhere in my childhood-stuff, but I never tried that, too.

Soon in german Krimi-series, the new Volkswagen Crafter :

Or its twin with another badge :

I knew VW and MB had gone their separate ways, but did not expect to see the "Burglöwe" on a van's grille.

i got an e-mail from Mercedes yesterday with the title " Sunshine included " . Probably not new to our European friends but i was surprised to see a S-Class convertible, which i believe will serve as product placement for a rich family in a movie....or in a bunch of rap videos...

http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201509/2016-mercedes-s-class-con-17_1600x0w.jpg

For the not that rich family in the movie but could still be used as placement product, the C-Class also drop the top

http://www.jdpower.com/sites/default/files/2017_mercedes-benz_c300_cabriolet_03_720.jpg

the e-mail also came with a mini-website link for the other convertibles, which also gets some little changes : https://cabriolet-roadster.mercedes-benz.com/ca/en/intro.html ..... but you have to go to http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/content/canada/mpc/mpc_canada_website/en/home_mpc/passengercars.html to get the information concerning the engines specifications..

Found on a brazilian website : new Scania four-axle armored trucks. Rather impressive vehicles ; I wouldn't be surprised if they turned up in local movies soon.

I don't know why, but the cab of the Scania trucks make me think about Jack Palance... or about an improved version of the Bogdanoff brothers

Right now I cannot find a photo of it, only from the armoured MAN-trucks in usage of the German Federal Reserve Bank:

but they have at least also two armoured Scania-truck.

Time-by-time I see them from my office, when drive come from the Bundesbank-branch in Hagen to the police headquarters in Dortmund.
As the route goes directly besides my company, a colleague and me have already thought about, to block the street with his VW Up! and tell the blokes in the truck "Hey, guys, you wanna get trouble, eh? Let's talk smoothly about all"
- but the blokes never look communicative... :disapointted:

while looking for limited editions, found something that, if everything goes like they planned, could end up in our site as soon as next year . Some still present the concept car but some other show the vehicle in his 'almost or ready to launch ' form
