Where is the location?

For sure I've alarmed the professional tinhunter ( http://icmesa.com/tinhunter/ ), if he already knows the place.

The price for old iron is 0.15 euro /Kg.
28/07/2010 @ 08:44:30: ingo: Junk yards and abandoned cars
Several more money, and not really less, atom could earn, if the cuts off the beetle sunroof incl. the oval an the vents underneath. And maybe the dashboard, too.
28/07/2010 @ 11:37:29: atom: Junk yards and abandoned cars
We talked about it but it's probably in to bad shape. Everything is repairable but I don't think it's worth it.
28/07/2010 @ 13:44:11: wickey: Junk yards and abandoned cars
impossible in Slovakia  in case someone will find such an abandoned site anywhere in our country - even in the middle of deepest woods, within few days, all cars will be gone and sold for iron. Our gipsy citizens will make sure of that..
28/07/2010 @ 19:23:25: ingo: Junk yards and abandoned cars
@atom: you will wondering, what prices you'll get for VW-scrap, just when it's old enough.

Once I've picked up total rusty and bended semaphores from a late 50ies VW Bus -in Sweden, the best european junkyard-country, where else?- just for joke. Also just for joke I've put it at eBay - and got real money for it (I think 30 € or so).

Maybe pick just up the whole VW-wreck ad put it, as it is to eBay - I'm sure, crazy freaks will pay money for it. And they will come from other countries to take it. Even it's in very rough condition, the sunroof seems to be the original from Golde - this is enough to make the freaks mad about it.

If the eBay-offer is not successful (which I don't believe), then sell it for the iron price...

You will need one of these to get them out of there: http://www.miniskotning.se/mafo.htm but sure, anything could be arranged...

Oh yes, same story in Serbia. :ohwell:

A relative emailed me in regarding to the barn find. She send me several picture in the letter. I checked the site with the website embedded in the picture. Sure enough it was some kind of barn find hoax that was posted approximately 3 years ago. Here you go: Barnfinds Portugal. Enjoy!
09/08/2010 @ 14:45:45: ingo: Junk yards and abandoned cars
It was indeed a kind of hoax. It was not a forgotten classic car-collection, as the first rumours have said.
It was the storage of a local car-dealer and his two sons. Some months ago I read a reportage in my classic car magazine about them. The cars were for sale since then. I don't know, if all are sold until now.

:king: Great, many thanks!

If you will come there again, I would (especially my friend Mario www.teilethimm.de) be very thankful for one detail: the FIN-number (on top of the holder of the right suspension strout).

It's a 1972-model with 75 hp in "geminimetallic". Front seats or door-panel, one of it is non-original.

Very "Scandinavian-style", this car - it's a Standard-model, no "L"-interior, but with metallic paint. Unusal in other countries. Except the luxoury-tax (in Denmark for example) there was annother reason. In several export-countries you couldn't order every equipment. So in Sweden you got the 75 hp-version only with standard-interior, the 90 hp only in the "luxoury" "L"-trim, resp.the 100 hp after Summer 1973 only as LS.

Is the back bumper rustfree? It looks quite shiny. If yes, please ask for the price. They are becoming one of our problem-parts. Don't worry about the picking-up or delivery. Until now I have organized everything anyhow...
09/08/2010 @ 22:42:25: atom: Junk yards and abandoned cars
Interesting info!

The problem is that this junkyard is located 400 km from where I live and the next time I will go there (if I can) will be in one year from now.
I saw two Fiat 850 Sport Coupés that I wanted to take parts from but they where in a very bad condition.

I came there late and didn't have any tools with me so I just ran around and took as many picture as I could, I will upload them later tonight or maybe tomorrow.

I guess there could be something interesting for everyone...

16/08/2010 @ 00:35:50: DonSergioMorello: Junk yards and abandoned cars
I found few abandoned cars in Belgrade this week.

Volkswagen Bettle 1200J, TAS-made:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c268/VuleGSBeograd/th_Slika0117.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c268/VuleGSBeograd/th_Slika0116.jpg

1987./88. Yugo 45 AX:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c268/VuleGSBeograd/th_Slika0119.jpg

In front of the garage where I keep my GS - Yugo Uno 45R - Fiat Uno assembled in Zastava.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c268/VuleGSBeograd/th_Slika0120.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c268/VuleGSBeograd/th_Slika0121.jpg

It had 903ccm 45 HP DMB engine and gearbox from Yugo 45, and rest of the car came in CKD from Italy. Produced from 14.06.1989. until 1994., but only 2620 pcs were made. Nothing to regret - it rusted like hell, more rapidly then FSO Polonez and Citroen Dyane together (on this one floor almost completely fell off)!

And something special for ingo. While I was spending my time in my summer house this weekend, my friend who has summer house approx. 15 km away from mine called me to come, to see what he did to one GS he bought. I decided to take a country road instead of highway and found this:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c268/VuleGSBeograd/th_Slika0123.jpg

Since I was in a rush, I took a photo from the car while driving. It looks like VW was originally red, and someone wanted to restore it and painted it in duck-poo yellow, and then gave up (ran out of money, or lost will). It probably belongs to someone from the neighborhood.

Many thanks! If there would be the chance for getting the VIN-number, please think at me. Or maybe it's possible to tell the owner, that he can get needed parts from me.

It was repainted? On the first view it looked like getting matt 1974 sunyellow. It looks, if the car was carefully dismantled, not just abandoned and smashed. Maybe the restoration is not finally ended. The question is, what they think to do with the parts - nothing fits to other VW's.
