Why do so many of you encourage dialogue with this rude, 14-year-old, little punk? Sadly, his kind will rule the roost one day. For now, just ignore him; he'll disappear in due course, like the smell of a bad fart!

I sense hostility, so i should better shut up before "ANTP" gets angry.

Please call me "antp" instead of making errors in my name all the time

Actually Antione. Citroen DS cabs are being used in 2015. Duh, anyone would know that.

There were some ID taxis, yes, but do not forget that the number of taxis in Europe (except London with his famous black cabs) is low compared to typical US cities. So lots of taxis are from private owner. Taxi companies rather use Mercedes-Benz, since long time now.

Uhh, there are more fleets than just police cars and taxis. I know Tempos and Topazes would've been available as rental cars (we rented one once), and I'd imagine some government agencies would also use them (maybe even businesses who buy them as company cars, I dunno). As for the DS, I doubt it would've been bought brand new to be used as a taxi, although the ID might've.
And just because a car is revolutionary, doesn't mean it'll sell well. If the public's not ready for the advancements, they'll shun the car (just look at the Chrysler Airflow, or when GM brought out fuel injection on the Corvette).
And, I don't think the Tempo is a great car. Little gadgets we take for granted, such as 12 radio presets, do not make a car great. I don't doubt it's a decent car. I loved my old Escort. But dependable transportation isn't quite enough to make a car great.

I meant in an entry-level sedan . DRLs have been used in high-end and exotic cars since a the late 70s. The Ford Tempo (and soon after the Corsica) were the first entry-level sedans to use them. Also, Oldsmobile invented the DRL/Daytime Running Headlights. Not everything was invented by Europeans . Almost all the cute little accessories everyone takes for granted were invented by Americans: power windows (Lincoln, 1941), power locks (Packard), the safety belt (Ford), hidden windsheild wipers, and millions of other things.
As for power seats, I think Oldsmobile invented them in the 1950s. But they first saw wide use in the 1980s, with cars like the Ford Tempo.
Wasn't the DS sold as fleet too? Taxis? The Tempo was rarely sold as fleet, if you knew anything you'd know the word: LTD/Crown Victoria! Taxi cabs, squad cars etc were almost 99% Crown Vics/LTDs and NOT Tempos. Tempos were sold mostly to public, unlike the Corsica (which was released as a commercial car like the Biscayne).
