Isn't there an option somewhere that is set to resize captures? Maybe you can specify that you want them in original size.

My screenshots with VLC are very small. 300*210 or something.

Garco.

I always capture in lossless format (bmp/png) and then later convert all of them with batch-conversion that lots of programs have (e.g. Paint Shop Pro, XnView, etc.)
That allows to do some cut/paste or color corrections if needed without losing quality, and it also allows to chose compression level (as for example Media Player Classic's JPEG are not very compressed)

One more thing; captures are saved in PNG format so pictures must be opened in Microsoft Photo Editor and then convert them somehow to JPG.

This problem with VLC pause is the reason why I didn't use it for captures.
Else it is really good.

For the region-change, after the 5 changes the drive is locked on the last selected region.
It is strange that VLC can play it, as this region selection is done by the drive and not by a software.
Some drives can be modified (new firmware installed in the chip of the drive) to play any region DVD. Maybe that there is one available for your drive.

I accidentally bought a region 1 DVD-movie. As we know Region 2 is for Europe (where I live). Region 1 is US and Canada only. At first I was worried what to do but then I found a free player called "Videolan VLC" which is a region free program. It opens all region movies.

Luckily with VLC player it is possible to capture pictures. One annoying thing however is "pause" button which is really slow. When I want to stop the picture it takes 1,0 - 1,5 seconds before the movie stops. Otherwise it's a good program. I understand that in ordinary DVD-player and in computer DVD-ROM you can change the region five times and after that it "locks itself" ?
