Don't remember, it was probably google image search (which I use a lot, looking for differences between model years of whatever has my attention for that moment).
I was (and am still) amazed by many members ability to diagnose the exact year and trim level of so many different vehicles given so little information. I'm not great at it, but after a few months lurking I saw there was enough information I could add to justify signing up. I'm glad I did, this is a really nice community.

It was around late August/early september '07. A couple of friends of mine were discussing the movie 'A Clockwork Orange' (1971). Intreaged, I found out about this movie being set in the future, with a good car scene invloving the 'Durango 95', so I woundered if there were any more cool cars in the film. I typed in 'Cars from A Clockwork Orange', and found this site, I then saw the film, and checked out more of this great site!

I honestly don't remember, and I find that kind of scary.
Same with me. I think I found it through Google, but I really do not know.

Many years ago I already found IMCDb while doing some internet research for a book which I´m still working on. I liked it, but soon lost track and finally forgot about it.
Last year somebody put the certain link on our German hearse forum, claiming "find all the hearses in the movies". I was very pleased and immediately started browsing the site, beginning with the vehicles I know best. I was highly impressed, but I occasionally wondered why there were so many coachbuilders not mentioned and others misspelled.
Next I tried finding some of the movies that had been provided by the company I had been working for. I found one of them and saw it listed as "Cadillac unknown", for the picture only showed a front view. I felt a bit sorry for our "poor" ´63 Fleetwood not being fully listed on that brilliant website.
Additionally, I just had left a different internet forum for good back then and so I had something you might call a "free seat" within my online activities. Now I had three reasons to ask myself: "Why not becoming a contributor of that fantastic website?"
Since then I´m here and I still love it.

I stumbled across this place by accident. I was submitting pictures to Rotary Action, a helicopter website, and decided to see if there was a site that specifically listed Land Rovers in movies. One Google search later and I find the one from The Monster Squad (http://imcdb.org/vehicle_21350-Land-Rover-109---Series-IIa-1961.html), and voila. I've been here ever since. Certainly not the most active member, maybe, but I enjoy contributing screenshots. After Sheena I couldn't stop!

I found the page by surfing the net for -you will not be surprised- VW K 70-related pics or texts.
