Hello; I am new to this site but thought you might be interested in a new discovery. The original studio insert car used in the TV series, The Untouchables, from 1959 to 1963 has been discovered & is in the same condition as last used. It was sold at the Paramount auction in LA many years ago & has been stored ever since. Yesterday I bought it just because it came available. The car breaks at the front doors or at the rear seat so the camera can film action up close. Everything is mounted on large casters & springs so it can be bounced a bit to simulate being on the road. All together the car looks like the real thing from any angle inside the body and for close ups from outside. It duplicated the main 28 Buick used in the show as well as many taxis. There are many layers of yellow, orange & black paint on the outside as it was painted to match road cars as needed. The car actually is a 1928 Yellow Cab, built by the Yellow Truck & Coach division of GM. The Yellow Cab car of 1928 closely resembled the 1928 Buick - only larger. I will try to post pictures later. This car could be available to serious prop collectors or any movie related venue.
