I was very interested 2 years ago about a 57 Dodge Coronet sedan used in the Lassie TV series for only the 4th season 57-58. I contacted the prop master for the show who did not work on the show that season, but would still know how it operated. He had no recollection of any providers or dealers of cars, and suggested I talked to the Teamsters.
If anyone who reads this has personal experience with the film car industry and knows details of the ways these cars were procured, handled, and discharged, send me a personal message. I know its very unlikely, given Dodge's track record, that this car still exists. It would be fun to know where it ended up.
I would like to find one of the D-series trucks so that it could be restored and given to a museum that honors the US Forest Service.
I don't have the means now, but I would still keep in contact with the owner to any of these vehicles until I am ready. Thanks.
