The quality of images captures from Youtube video is so poor I wouldn't advise people using youtube as a regular source for car images unless you can't find the cars you want to add anywhere else (DVD or download).

Since "Stuck in the Suburbs" isn't available on DVD, I made my own DVD-R of that cheesy Disney Channel TV-Movie. Unfortunatley, I can't play or get screencaps from it on my PC, so I've had to get them from some fans YouTube download.

There are at least eight parts/links to this one.

That being said I've seen a few Adam and Joe sketches on Youtube featuring cars (they only released one DVD of their shows which was a "Best of" compilation), I've been thinking of adding these images, but the quality is so poor I'd feel a bit embarrassed.

indeed, I was going to write the same thing. Personally I use plugin "Download Helper" (for Firefox) - I can download the Youtube video as .flv file, play it normally on Media Player Classic and make captures the normal way.

The best way to extract a youtube image is to use a firefox plugin like UnPlug to download the .flv file and capture from that.

Trying to erase a post.

Okay, I was just about to complain about how VLC does the same thing when you try to save the images and post them on a paint file, when I suddenly found that after also using the existing capture program... that IT WORKS!

My main complaint it that it forced me to convert all my video and audio files to the VLC program(I hope my iTunes weren't screwed up), and that the movie you're watching shows up on any other pages that you may be using.

Prepare for images from me in 2008!

As I promised, here's the music video for Weird Al Yankovic's song "I'll Sue Ya," which is way better than "White & Nerdy"(not that White & Nerdy is bad, mind you.). I've already got the CD/DVD, but I thought I'd post the YouTube link anyway.

Only two vehicles in this one; A 1959(?) Cadillac convertible, and a non-descript Japanese truck of some kind.

Enjoy.

For DVDs, divx and so on, you have to use the built-in capture feature of the program. PowerDVD should have one somewhere in a menu or with a shortcut key, else you can use Media Player Classic or VLC to play the DVD/video.

 yes with Print Screen key it just puts image in memory: you have to past, crop and save it after that.

Well, it's a good thing I can do that with YouTube. Because I just tried it with another PC that has a DVD-Rom and Power DVD, and it didn't work... again. So don't be so hopeful for me to make scans from DVD's.

Some image programs have a built-in capture function to which you can assign another shortcut

Well, whatever image program this library PC has, it isn't letting me find the image anymore than that PowerDVD crap did.

UPDATE: I think I know what I did wrong. I forgot to go to the paint program. I suppose now all I'm going to have to do is edit it and send it to imageshack. I can't guarantee I'll get everything else taken care of, but this should be a start.
