Beautiful car! I've always like the way the '88-'91 Grand Monkey looks.

Well it's not so much because of age, as it is simply becuase it has a very large V8 engine
17 MPG isn't even bad for this car, as I thought in the beginning. It gets a solid 13 in pure city driving, though it's been up to 23 on pure-highway miles.
But I just say oh well. I didn't buy Grand Marquis to be a gas saver, and since gas is cheap these days, who cares?

Nice car taxiguy! Alas, older cars are much more aesthetically pleasing at the cost of poor gas mileage.

O.K., it's not a car, but perhaps anyone is interested:

I took some better pictures of my car:
spotted this nice rainbow while driving
Some bad news about this car: I went to fill up yesterday and I calculated the gas mileage... 17 MPG!

taxiguy, do you like this old square 'Grand Marquis' more than the current one ? I thought you liked the 1992+ Crown Vic's/Marquis ?? Just curious. Nice car btw.
I like them both equally, I couldn't chose which one I like better. Both styles are nice in their own way.
And thanks for the compliment!

Ahm, thanks

Yes, indeed, I see now in the next to last photo. The car has "Shift mode" O/D Lock-Out. The plain letter "D" indicates the Overdrive gear is disabled (denying the transmission access to the final gear) So the AOD Automatic transmission will shift from 1-2-3 only. When the letter "D" (placed within a circle or solid color circle) is selected, Overdrive is enabled. So the AOD Automatic transmission will shift from 1-2-3-4.

By what i could see in the pictures it seems to have a "normal" "D" and a "D" inside of a circle that may indicate the "overdrive" no?
