If the series is "active", i.e. the one who started it still often send pics, it is better to leave it for him.
Else for series not updated since some time, or incomplete movies, no problem. You can check the "coming soon" topic in the contributions section: in the first post there is a list of what will be done in a near future and which series are made by who... but I am not sure that everybody keeps that up-to-date (by the way I should update there the list of series that I watch )

I think i'm a little bit confused (or not). So with series like desperate housewives which i recently contributed to it would be "preferred" that just leave it to the admins that started it to do it, but anything new such as the above its open to whoever gets it first. As i said, i may have misunderstood some things but grasped the rest of it.
I'm not new to the site, but definitely slightly new to this whole contributing pics stuff/starting things up, ive only ever identified something here and there on the pages of actual shows.

Yes. I just gave the example of SWF who could "reserve" it because there are sometimes special cases for "old" members. But if he waits until Christmas for getting the DVD, it is maybe not bad that someone else gets pics from the DVD some time earlier.
"Reserving" something can also be done if you just got the DVD but need few days (e.g. 2 or 3) before sending pics. But again this is usually done by admins or "old" members rather than new members that we do not know well
Just a detail about series: first one to start the series (or season of series) continues it. Reason why Ccf wanted to continue Top Gear AU. By the way, it is the same for Desperate Housewives which was usually done by Wickey. I do not know if I was going to continue it though. If the person who sent pictures stopped at a point, then anyone can continue. For example "Heroes" was stopped early in season 1, so I continued that. And someone else sent pics for season 3.

When it comes out the first one to have it will make the captures
Id say in all fairness that i agree, first come first serve, first one to upload the pics is it. Thats fair. So could be anyone, me, SWF or anyone else who might fancy doing it and get there before either of us.
Star Wars Fanatic
The thing is, I like to wait to get the DVD myself so I can view it at Christmas. I would be happy to do it like I have done the others, as long as you don't mind waiting until then.

Why are you all always so upset about this Jeremy Clarkson-stuff?
It's nothing more than an unimportant idiot, who nerves the public with his own car-taste. Worth to ignore.

Usually these Clarkson DVDs were done by StarWarsFanatic, so if (and I said if) someone could "reserve" it, it would be him.

Not sure if it has already been discussed, but Jeremy Clarkson's new DVD for this year is released in early November. It's called "Thriller" and a trailer for it is here:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VRPzG22zDjA
Cars featured in the trailer:
AEC Routemaster
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Aston Martin DBS
Ferrari F430 Scuderia
Fiat 500
Lamborghini Gallardo
1993 Lexus LS400
Mercedes CLK Black
Mercedes SLR McLaren 722GT
2008 Mini Cooper
1995 Mitsubishi Shogun LWB
Pagani Zonda Roadster
Porsche 911
1987 Porsche 944
Destructions this time appear to be:
The Lexus being shot at
The Routemaster being blown up - supposingly by a firework
The Mitsubishi shot at with a firework and, according to the blurb on Amazon, having a 7 ton diesel engine dropped on it.
The Porsche 944 having firework launchers fitted to each side, so may not end up being destroyed.
The Stig makes an appearance again, along with, I think, Jodie Kidd.
