Which shall come via Mexico?

Modern American cars in Cuba. I'm wondering if they could be grey imports from Mexico, as they can't come directly from the USA.

I have no clue how the Dodge Neon made it to Cuba.
@Ingo: Frankly, the Neon was the reason because in 1999 I had a 1st gen. Chrysler Neon, too.

That's interesting. Do they come via Mexico perhaps?

Nice to see old yank tanks from the forties and fifties still around! yet, the black sedan above has modern, cheap plastic wheels, and the majority of these cars have Lada engines. The best way to run them daily maybe, but it's just wrong! LOL

@Germaneon: was the Neon the reason for taking the pic or was it the "Olsen-Bande"-Chevy ( http://imcdb.org/vehicle_81875-Chevrolet-Bel-Air-1959.html )

Yes and No. In 1999 I was on vacation in Cuba and detected this 1st Neon. It´s got a yellow plate such as all private vehicles in Cuba had.

New American cars haven't been sold in Cuba since 1959 due to the US trade embargo.

I thought in Cuba American cars were very popular?

It appears to have a black license plate, which would make it an embassy car, probably from Canada or the US Special Interests Section.
