Many thanks to TV Boy for putting up so many pictures from Empire Falls. That is indeed my '62 Valiant in the background of the pictures of the 53 Studebaker and the 56 Mercury. Ill be looking through my records to look for details on the pictured cars.

This is a pretty good miniseries and I highly recommend it. I thank Mycroft for bringing it to my attention. I'm disappointed, though, that so many of the cars are so far in the background or so small they can't be used here. Apparently the director was not what you call a car nut. Personally if I had a Packard Caribbean on my set I would put it in a prominent place, because rare cars like that fill out a historic set a lot better than something you'd see at every other 2009 car show. That includes Mycroft's lovely Valiant, it should've been more prominent. I did catch a glimpse of it. Unfortunately I never saw the Packard Caribbean.

Volkswagen Jetta. This is a four star vehicle.

Mycroft
My car is a white 1962 Plymouth Valiant V-100 2-door. It was in the background of a flashback scene at a hotel on Marthas Vinyard. Unfortunately you can barely see it... just one fender... way in the back... for a second. So my car isn't really worth mentioning.
Other cars in the scene include a '61 Imperial, '57 Thunderbird, and a '53 Studebaker.
Other cars in the movie include a '62 Thunderbird convertible (the "star" car), '59 Ford, '57 Ford retractable, '57 Ford wagon, '56 Cadillac, '63 Studebaker, '56 Mercury, '57 Chevy, '48 Buick, '55 Packard Caribbean convertible, and a bunch of others I don't remember right now.
Anyway... my car was going to be more prominent. I was even going to get to drive as traffic around the '62 Thunderbird star car. But the shot was cancled when one of the two duplicate Thunderbirds was damaged. So my car only made it into the distant background.
tv boy
I just added it to my Netflix queue, if no one else is doing it. Mycroft, which car was yours?

Hello. First of all I want to say thanks for contacting us

I'm not sure who would be willing to make captures for the series. It's actually fairly easy to do and there is a tutorial in the Contributions section of the forum. However, I am sure that a page can be made for the production anyways so that the vehicles can be listed, although there will obviously be no pictures.
Mycroft
Has anyone considered listing the cars from this movie/mini-series? If so, I worked on the production in 2003. My job title was "production assistant" and I was not credited. But my actual job discription was more like "old car wrangler". I was paid to locate and arrange the use of classic cars for the film sequence set in 1962.

I still have my notes containing details of many of the cars. Some of the vehicles were provided by the production company, or contracted for use by other people.

If anyone has interest in trying to identify the cars in the film, I would be happy to help. I don't have the ability to provide images, and I'm new to the IMCDB site anyway... so I'm not really sure how this works.

Also... my own car was in the film, so I'd really like to see Empire Falls included on the IMCDB site.
