I only watched the episode with the "1996" one in it, so I can't comment on the role of the other 1997 one. My guess is that they're the same vehicle, seeing as they appear only 4 episodes apart.

Are they both really just 1-star btw? Especially the 1997 one, that looks like at least 2-star, except if the person opening the door is not a character of the series.
If that one has a bigger role, I'll regroup the 1996 one in the comments of the 1997 one.
