I know the Sprinter is selling well, I assumed the Metris wasn't as it was in the same segment as those vans above, and people weren't used to a luxury car maker's vehicle there.
BTW, very interesting that Metrises have body-colored bumpers even as Vitos. In Europe the Vito as the workhorse has basic equipment and only unpainted bumpers, while the V-Class is the family van with painted bumpers, multimedia capability and luxurious equipment.

Did you look at the attached link? A lot of your questions are answered there. The Sprinter is doing fine and sells four times as well as the Metris. Most buyers felt the Metris was too expensive for their needs and the interiors too cheap for a Mercedes-Benz. The main reason is that they used a Nissan engine that Nissan is discontinuing. They don't have a replacement engine for North America. The Sprinter also offers that engine plus a diesel. They are just going to sell the diesel until they release an all electric Sprinter. The other engines that Europe offers on the Vito are not certified in the US.

No one trusts to take a Mercedes to a construction site, huh? They're too busy with their Expresses, Econolines and Savanas.

Was I living under a rock? When did Mercedes start selling the Vito in the US?

Even so, and despite the fact that the Camry is also a thing, I'm not entirely sure why we'd need yet another Toyota SUVs... If I wanted a Toyota SUV that's more upper class than a C-HR (or Corolla/Yaris Cross), I'd just buy a Harrier (our version of the Venza)!
... And people wonder why more people are buying E-Klasses and 5-series nowadays.
