I've been aware of the filming from local press, but haven't been to see what's happening. Reports give the impression it's only a limited exercise for a small segment of the film, not a mega closure and transformation like World War Z. Seems to be the usual locations - Bothwell St and block - west of the city centre in the offices district. See Fast and Furious 6 etc.

License plates are too orange for NY. Looks like a lot of cars from the future for 1982.

The Sky Atlanatic show Melrose, based on novels by Edward St Aubyn and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, has been filming in Glasgow with locations dressed to stand in for New York. It looks as if the scenes range from the 1970s to the present.

It looks as if the "WALK/DON'T WALK" lights from World War Z were dusted off for the shoot.
