Which compact executive car/entry level luxury car available on today's new car market would you choose? If there's anything I've missed out, please tell me, but there's ten choices available in the poll, so if I haven't listed the car you want, you'll have to choose from the ones I've listed.

I liked E36 BMW 3-series, but I suppose that it concerns the modern 3-series. Anyway, I chose the SAAB :oh:

I'd be all over the MKZ. Too bad it doesn't have a manual trans option like its other variations.

Most luxury cars only have automatics. But if you had a few thousand dollars could you put a manual in?

Probably, but I'd probably buy something else with a manual instead. I'd still rock the MKZ as a spare car if I was rich enough.

I know it's close enough. But I find the MKZ the best looking of that platform.

As some of you know, I adore my Jaguars, however, having driven the X Type(& as an ex S Type owner) I found the current generation of smaller Jaguars lacking in areas that make a Jaguar a Jaguar, so I`m sorry Sir Lyons(if your up there watching me). The X & S are good cars & if you`ve never owned a Jaguar before, I`m sure you`d be very happy, but any XJ or XK owner downsizing will feel something big is missing....

To me BMs, Merks & anything Japanese are bland, boring, souless vehicles for people who care more about keeping up with the Joneses rather than enjoying the driving experience.

Audi, Saab & Volvo are very impressive cars all round that do get my respect & are the intelligent choice, but lack the`it`factor for me, after all, isnt an executive car suposed to have large ammounts of class & elegance & make you feel special everytime you drive it?

Which is also why the Caddy & Lincoln dont even figure in this equasion...

Yep, Alfa it has to be(although I`d rather have a 159 to a 166!)

Shame they dont have them in the states, I`m sure theyd do very well...

If you want a "global" lineup, you forgot Acura TL (or TSX) and the G35/Skyline. I also believe the Volvo S40/V50 would fit the bill too, and the BLS is certainly more of a "compact executive" rather than the 5er-sized CTS.

I chose the X-Type for ideological reasons, but I guess it would be hard for me to resist the current 3er and A4 (both best ever). I wouldn't buy any of them new anyway

The Audi A4. It's my dream car right now. It's a nice, sleek-looking car, but at the same time not too "extravagant" (for lack of a better term)

I picked the CTS. With this car Cadillac can finally prove it has what it takes to play with the big boys from Germany. It was picked as Motor Trend's COTY after all.
