Ok, I just have to know the story behind "Explorer4X4". I have come across various comments of his, some of which are freaking hilarious. I have gathered that he is in love with Ford Tempos and has been 'banned' from the site. I was just wondering what he did to get banned from the site.

I don't know of him too well, but I know that he had complained about Tempo's and Topaz's geting wrecked in movies. Maybe it is something members may not want to discuss because I believed that he caused a lot of problems in the past.

"Explorer4x4" was finally banned because of repeatedly insulting other users (some insults were very vulgar) He still pops up every now and then by making new IMCDb accounts (using different user names) but when he is discovered he is banned again.

There is a current IMCDb user that I am very suspicious of, that I think could be "Explorer4x4" as he refers to vehicles that Explorer4x4 talked about.

Neptune, I don't know if you've noticed but on IMCDB have you seen an account name under Notexplorer4x4? I've seen that profile name around but I think his comments were all deleted. I just wondered if you've seen the name before. Anyways antp said something about finding out old users by e-mail accounts.

Making a new name saying that he is not who he really is. The whole Explorer4x4 part gives it all away.

I don’t think that kid was the brightest crayon in the box. My kids have more sense than he does (I would like to have seen just one of his school report cards to see how he preformed in school) My kids bring home As and Bs, but I digress.

Yeah, he could have been a bully in school too. By what I've read he just seems like a jerk. I'm just glad most users here aren't like that.

No he's not the school bully, he's just a geek and if you've seen a picture of him you'll realize that he couldn't intimidate anyone.

I don't think he was particularly dumb, despite his pathetic efforts to get back onto the site, he was just immature and he wasn't good at listening to others. There's also something very middle-American about him (he lives in Alaska), I don't mean to put down Americans, but some American kids just don't seem to have much awareness of what the rest of the world is like, he didn't seem to relate to the sensibilties of the European members of this site, in America it's always bigger is better, but Europe (and Britain) isn't quite like that, so he didn't understand why some of us dislike SUVs. Worse than that he used to slag off European cars, particularly French cars, saying they were tiny, puny and ugly and bigger American cars were far better, which got on some people's nerves. To get back at him we just made of fun the Tempo (which he worships because he has one of own) pointing how often they are wrecked in movies because they are cheap, disposable cars. His Tempo obsession was tolerable, but he used to start big arguements in the comments pages, coming out with ridiculous statements that would make Jeremy Clarkson sigh, most of these arguements have been archived. I know I start big discussions on things, but I'm not like Explorer4x4, at one point antp said talking to him was like talking to a wall (except the wall doesn't talk back to you). It's not he insulted people ALL the time, but later on he began to, mostly the older members of this site for being old, one time he really shot his mouth off and antp had enough and banned him. The thing is at first he wasn't actually that bad (he came to this site about the same time as I did), he was more polite and he even seemed fairly intelligent and grown-up for a 14-year-old, but this changed, he just seemed to get more annoying as time went on.

Wow. Explorer4x4 is an idiot. All he cares about are his precious Tempos and Topazs which are now piles of +13 year old junk. Those comments were so disrespectful and threatening and I can't believe he insulted antp like that. It comes to show that everyone has their own bad side and I'm sure no one wants to see mine either.

Btw, that was tough of you antp to say you're banned in that tone, but I thought that you prohibited swearing on the site . But in this case you had to do something about that jerk.

So I am guessing this FordFanatic was the same person as Explorer4X4? When a comment author's name is black and not an active link you can click on does that mean they were banned, or could there be other reasons as well?

well Explorer4x4 proudly achieved second place in IMCDB-ban history first one was Rocker B.J. - one stupid kid from the US also - so currently US 2: 0 Rest of the World (just kidding )

Now I'm not sure what happened with Rocker B.J., it may have been before I came here.

He was asking all the time to change car names/models, though that he was often right, he was quite annoying as sometimes he was posting several times e.g. "please change to 1982" at times when there was nobody on the site (e.g. in the night, European time). Things went worse with the "Maximum Overdrive" truck, whose identification is not really sure...
At a time he insulted some members as nobody wanted to change the name of that truck.

About Explorer4x4, something he was also all the time mentioning is that Toyota or other car companies were making recalls of their cars, as they were "less reliable than Ford", etc.

Ford has indeed, had lots of recalls, but so has Toyota, GM and various others. When I owned my Land Cruiser, I was notified that a minor potentially faulty part had to be thoroughly inspected during the vehicle’s next scheduled appointment and (if it needed to be replaced) to expect it’s maintenance turn-around-time to be a little longer than usual.

Explorer4x4 used no common sense in his comments. Ford is not the best automaker in the world. Though he may have thought that it was.

I agree. I'm not trying to offend any Ford fans, but I don't think Ford is the greatest auto maker right now, even though they have some nice cars. Ford was one of the best and now it's one of the worst. I know many people that that had a Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury that had reliability issues. It's such a disappointment.
