But, notchback or liftback, they're all coupés after all...

But in the case where both are offered, the liftback should be classified as hatchback.

Yes, we can still keep that difference in the listing.
If the extra info also includes the liftback term (or equivalent applicable to that model), we can easily mass-update the class/category in case some liftbacks are listed as coupés "by mistake".

All Polo 9N2 should be model year 2006, as should all European-spec Jetta V.

Some mass changes which emerged from VINs:

All 1980-85 Fiat Panda and Panda Van are [141A] and not [141], and this applies also to all Seat Panda
All 1980-2003 Fiat Panda 4x4 are [141A] too
All Seat Marbella and Seat Terra are [Typ 028A]
All 2004-2011 Alfa Romeo GT are [937]
All 2005-2011 Alfa Romeo Brera and 2006-2011 Alfa Romeo Spider are [939]
All Peugeot 406 are [8B]
All 1983-93 Opel Corsa A and Vauxhall Nova are built in Spain, except the ones with "built in Yugoslavia" tag, and should be origin Germany

Thanks in advance and sorry for the many requests

For the Fiat Panda, I assume that the single 1986 model listed as 141 is also a 141A.
What about Seat Panda Terra? Same as Seat Terra?
And about Seat Trans?

Yes, indeed, for the Panda all 1980-2003 ones are [141A], including 4x4, except Vans

About Seat Panda Terra and Seat Trans, these are still to check, I'll let know when I get a conclusive result

Except vans? But you said vans too in your first comment
Or you mean that 1986+ vans have a different code? (241?)

Sorry, I explained myself in a bad way: Vans always seem to return [141A] in VINs, but there are traces from various sources of code [241] being used, in addition to the 60s/70s truck Fiat 241, also for Panda Vans (1980-2003).

If we want to follow entirely what VINs say, then we could use [141A] for all Vans 1980-2003 too as I haven't (yet) meet one with [241] in the VIN..

This small block of 1970s Taunuses should all get [TC1] code instead of [TC], which is only used on some overseas builds of Mk3 Cortinas.

Thanks.

All 1993+ Nissan Terrano [R20], Terrano II [R20] and Ford Maverick [R20] are origin Europe and built in Spain, and thus made for EU can be removed

All 2001+ Fiat Doblò, Doblò Adventure and Doblò Panorama that are currently [119] are actually [223] by VIN checks

Thanks in advance

VW Lupos should be origin Spain as the Arosa came first in March 1997. The Lupo was introduced in October 1998.

antp can you explain why we use generational codes for the Ford Expedition? They should be removed as US vehicles do not use generational codes. I could not find any evidence as to why this is the case.

Thanks in advance.
