Car pics from Jordanian Car Museum 2007

I found these photos on my old hard drive and I decided to share them here. I took these photos back in April 2007 when I was visiting the Royal Automobile Museum in Jordan. These cars belonged to the late King Hussein and are now on display. More info about the museum here: http://www.royalautomuseum.jo/default.aspx?Lang=en

Ignore the yellow time stamps on the bottom right as the date is incorrect since back then I recently got this camera and was still trying to figure out how to change it. Also, sorry that the lighting is not so great in some of the photos.

It seems, that we don't have a "Cars in Museums"-Thread, so I feel free to use this one for pics from other museums and exhibitions. As I wrote before, I hate to clutter up forums with always new threads.

Today I made a short visit at

http://www.oldtimermuseum-hoeing.de/

for preparing our K 70-meeting in May. The most cars belongs to the owner, but you can store your car there, too. Two cars, a Treser and the Artz-Audi 80 quattro are missing, because placed at the Techno Classica.

Such a car I had as a winter-car in 1998/1999, then sold to Russia for 50 D-Mark [ca.25€)

Nice Holland-joke. And very nice cars, too, especially the ultra-rare early Audi station wagons. Only the Harlekin-Polo is disturbing.

Well, there are also some trivial Audi 80[B3] and even Golf II in not really good condition in that collection. I didn't made pics of them.
Well, it's his collection and he decides, what is interesting and worth too keep.

Of course, that`s perfectly understandable. But since the emphasis of his collection seems to be Audi-cars anyway, a missing Harlekin probably wouldn't be much of a loss.

New threads have a purpose: allowing better search for informations later. In 6 month, who will remember (besides you) that there is pictures about a 2015 visit of the Oldtimer Museum in a thread named Car pics from Jordanian Car Museum 2007? Who really use the (badly performing) search engine of the forum?
Anyone visiting this museum and wanting to share pictures will create a new post about it, and you will (once again) complain about it

Anyway, could you please add some details with the pictures you show? I know the Aztec, for example, as I remember when it was unveiled in 1988. But younger (and some older  ) contributors may not. Same thing about the Audi 50: I'm able to recognize it and I'm aware it has a kind of importance in Audi's history, but is it the same for everybody?
Other examples, what is IMG_0547.JPG or IMG_0496.JPG? And so on, I could do it with a lot of car pictures you posted
Just giving the name could help, there is no need for further details. Curious people will then have a track to follow... Thank you in advance.

Yesterday ariund Noon we visited Germanys largest museum for tractors and agricultural machines:

http://www.traktorenmuseum-pauenhof.de/

For the most visitors the greatest attraction there is, driving a tractor. They have a parcours and the old Deutz are curbed to 10 km/h, so even my 9-year-old godchild was allowed to make a ride:

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/537/6gt36B.jpg

I let them have fun with the rides, I strayed through the halls to take pics for the IMCDB-ists  (and for m plate-fellows, too).

Something homemade self-cobbled from the DDR. Wartburg-engine, Trabant front wheels, the back wheels maybe from a DKW Schnellaster (but we aren't sure) - and a West German Blaupunkt "Frankfurt"

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/913/XybR8g.jpg

Something else self-cobbled, without description. The engine-cover seems to be from a scooter:

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/673/2ANbBo.jpg

"Zanker" was a maker of washing machines, refridgerators and such household-equipment, didn't know, that they also made tractors:

...more coming soon. Now I'm too tired for that.

First one says Ursus

The 1947+ Ursus was a Lanz-copy. I cannot find something in the Wiki-article about Ursus und as it seems I haven't made a photo of the badge - on which it's something said as "Ursus, license Lanz".

Anyways, sooner or later, when I have more time, I will be back there, than I will deliver the pic of the badge in addition.

Miags were made in the Gamer-town?

Are made, according Wiki: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIAG

(see "Nutzfahrzeugherstellung")

I must admit, that until 5 min ago I didn't know that company either - as several of other tractor-brands in this museum, too.

AFAIK there were more vehicle-manufacturers in your town, not just MAN-Büssing.

If you want know more, I recommend this magazine:

Although it's nearly 30 years old, it's very detailed - and cheaper than books with the same content.
You can buy it for 1€ on flea-markets, that's enough. If you want, tell me your address, that I can send you a double issue.
Of course nowadays you can find much more information in the Internet, but it's a good starter and also a good summary-register.
