Just received a letter from Nissan recalling my Versa ( funny, they said it is the 2nd one they send me but i never received one before today.. ) . Recall touches the front coil springs . I'm not really worried since they'll do the job for free ( at least, they are supposed to ) but i'm just curious about how many of us did received once ( or more ) safety recall letters ( Nissan or others )

shortly after I bought the Peugeot 106 in 2001 I had to come back for an "improvement"; I think it was for an update/fix of the software part of the electronics

I've had 2 recalls on my Kia Mega-Machine, both minor checks which showed mine was OK without needing anything fixed. They were passive items which the dealer waited on until a scheduled service came up. Nothing to do with the apostrophe.

While visiting my brother this weekend, I noticed he received a recall notice for his airbags in his Passat (he has a 2006). I have not received any recall notice for my Passat (my 2008). The news says it should be part of the Takata recall, but I've typed the VIN into VW's website and nothing comes up.

My wife had a recall for her previous Opel Astra G about something with the front axle.

Do you know, that there are no expiring dates for the customer's claim on recalls?

A friend in my K 70-Club owns also one of the very first Passat from autumn 1973. He noticed, that a safety recall from summer 1975 was never redeemed (some tin of the back axle). So now he is thinking to complain in Wolfsburg about the bad service and the ignorance about this safety recall in the local dealership.
But he has a little problem: he had to complain about himself then, as he is VW-garagist for 40 years...

My Versa got fixed at the end of july and guess what i received this week ? Bingo, another safety recall . This time its the airbag system that is concerned .. was my car ( or its components ) built near the end of a work shift ?
