I thought I would share some pictures I've taken over the summer (in my vacation from IMCDb sort of). Pictures of cars I've taken from various occasions I should say.


A got a picture of our dead F-300. 1954 Ford F-300 Big Job. We had too, and one is restored. This one is beyond repair. I've got more shots, just ask.



My older brother's first car. A 1991 Isuzu Trooper II. Most unreliable car ever made. It doesn't run anymore, and has been sitting in the woods a little ways back behind the F-300 rotting for the past 2 years.

A 2006 Mini Cooper S, at a booth called "Win-A-Mini" at the fair.


A HUMMER H2, that belongs to our VERY rich dog show friends. Thats their RV behind it. It is in a limited run blue and white paint. He bought it when the their previous H1 died on them, by accident. He was supposed to just go out and buy a new battery, but the husband (in his 70s) thought she said buy a new HUMMER. So, they got this. It is scene at out camp site at the Wine Country Dog Show Circuit in Romulus, New York.



Guess what it is! I spotted it at a stop sign at the dog show, and I grabbed the camera and ran and got a shot. A little too late, so I only got the rear. Third generation Mercury Topaz GS.


The people I went to the dog show with had this, a 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LT. I took it at our camp site.


And we stayed with some of our dog show friends who were also rich, and drove a custom RV and towed this. A first generation Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4X4. It had a V8, and leather interior.


The people I mentioned above in the Cherokee also brought this along. A Ford Econoline E-250 Custom Canine Traveler by Fashion-Kraft. Customized just for dog show people.

Two in one day! I also saw this Mercury M-100 sitting on a flatbed truck at the same truck stop I saw the F-150. Rare.

My late Grandma's 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle. You can see my Tempo in the right (a little).


A true piece of shit. Its my Grandpa's old 1993 Chevrolet Cheyenne 2500, which he bought new with my Blazer back in 1993. It is gone now when it was following my uncle in his F-350 and it slid down a hill and somehow the axle snapped. It was offroading at the time, and it has been there all summer rotting.



My uncle's International-Harvester FleetStar 2050. It works, barely.


One of the many cars in my Grandpa's junkyard. Its some old heavy duty Ford F-Series dump truck. Year and model would be nice.

Oh, and I do have more. But these are the best. And I've gotten many more shots of the Tempo over the summer, and I have two shots of my recently aquired Blazer.

You should be careful taking pictures of other people’s vehicles. Some people may not like you around their cars at all. If I saw someone taking pictures of my Land Cruiser without my permission, I would have them interrogated by the police.

But you do have some nice pictures by the way. Looks like you had quite a vacation.

Yea, I realized that. But I did/do not care. Plus a lot were there for taking pictures, like the John Deere. And the TrailBlazer, Cherokee, Econoline and all the pictures of the trucks (except the older Kenworth dump truck) were all from people I knew. The International, old F-150, Topaz and the old Kenworth were the only ones that the people did not know about. All the rest were either from people I knew or I asked permission. My Dad had a talk about the M-100 because he's got a F-100 from the same generation that doesn't run.

Why?
I do not really see the problem. When the cars are in the street, their image is "public", no? Well, maybe it is better to hide licence plates (that's what I do when I publish pictures).

I agree, taking photos of someone's car (especially if it is a nice one) is completely harmless, as is having a good look at it, as long as you don't act suspiciously and don't touch it. When I see a really nice car, I can't resist having a little peer inside even if it's just in a car park somewhere. Though I wouldn't be interested in some Land Cruiser.

How come your family has a bus?

I'd be flattered if someone wanted some shots of the Tempo. And our bus (1984 MCI MC-9 Crusader II) has a converted interior. We bought it used in 2001, it was a New Jersey Transit bus. And we ripped out the entire interior except for the first 4 rows of seats. Added a kitchen, bathroom, generator and a bedroom and many other things and now its a RV. We drive to and from Alaska and Connecticut in it.

Sounds nice. A lot of American RVs are like buses anyway, with their double windscreens.

No, there is not a law against taking photos of other people’s vehicles, but around here where I live; there use to be a group of thieves that would take pictures of vehicles before they would steal them. Furthermore I don’t want pictures of my license plate floating around for eyes with bad intentions to see, or worse; end up on the internet.

And no, G-MANN my Land Cruiser might not be a attractive vehicle, in fact lots of people don’t care for or like them. My neighbors think it’s absolutely hideous and wish I would take it back to the dealership I got if from. I would bet that I’m the only one here that likes the Toyota Land Cruiser. However, I make the payments on it, I use it to go places I can’t get to in a car, and I require it’s cargo room. I acquired it because I needed it, and because I wanted it, and that’s all that matters.

Hmmmmm. Neptune, where do you live? Like I said, all the cars were ours with the exception of 6.

I happen to live in Wilmington, North Carolina; right where your favorite movie Maximum Overdrive was filmed. But Wilmington’s crime rate has just about gone away over the years.

why so? Isn't US the free country, where anyone can take apicture of anything unless it is on private property? (no flame, I am just curious.)

As I said earlier, there is no law against taking pictures of other people’s vehicles. It’s just that here in the Wilmington area there were a small group (a gang if you prefer) that would take photos of vehicles that they wanted to steal. The vehicles (after having been stolen) were taken to chop shops. (Currently there are still at least two of the group members that are in jail for there unlawful actions)

It’s different if you take pictures of vehicles that are on display at a public event (car shows, county fair, something like that) Some people may get suspicious if you were to take photos of regular vehicles that are let’s say, parked along side the street. I would get suspicious if someone was taking photos of my Toyota Land Cruiser because it’s not exactly a attention getting vehicle. They are however sought after for their parts (just like any other foreign high performance vehicle), and my insurance company told me to carefully look after it, and to take precautions to prevent theft.

So if I saw someone taking pictures’ of my vehicle, I would at least like to know why.

I can understand. But the only car that was just a "regular car" was the Topaz. And you know I am insane about them. And its not like you could see the plates, and it is out of my state. Further, how is a 14 year old going to steal a car? And the fire department trucks were on display, as was the Mini and the John Deere. I asked the owner of the shop about the International, so he didn't mine the picture. The F-150, Cherokee, MC-9, F-300, Trooper, FleetStar, Cheyenne, Econoline, TrailBlazer, old F-Series dump truck, Mack and Beetle were all our family's or friends of ours. As I said, the M-100 was a request. That leaves the other F-150 which is like the Topaz, its far away (in another nation from me) and its plates are not visible. No harm done.

Ever heard of joyriders?

Yes. Very rare at 14, when most kids don't know how to drive. And I am not one of them.

That still doesn't stop some of them from hotwiring cars and driving wrecklessly. Believe me there are underage joyriders. And with cars with automatic transmission (which most US cars have), anyone who could reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel could drive them.

Yea, but it is still very rare. I've only heard of it happening 4 times in the past two years.

Never mind. I should talk, my little brother stole and wrecked our van.
