"Death Wish 4", 1987. It features a navy blue BMW E30 Coupe. Not sure on the model. Either a 318i or 325. I don't recall seeing a large air-dam as the 325is and 325es had. The car's owner is a minor character in only one scene (first 15 min.). The car is parked the entire time in a parking garage. The car gets it's windows badly smashed (cool safety glass breakage/effects) by three guys with base-ball bats while the woman is in her car (car won't start).
