They depreciate thousand of dollars as you drive them off the lot! It's horribly uneconmical to buy a brand new car, which is why when I'm old enough to get my car I'm only going to buy cars that are at least a few months, maybe a year old. But I really don't plan on buying a car that new anyway, since I'll be good just cruising in my 1997 Crown Victoria
