I did wonder about the american thing, as the film appears to be dubbed, but I wondered if it was originally American dubbed into the varying foreign languages and then back to English. It seemed pretty ropey even as a kid, but highly entertaining and the race at the beginning always stuck in my mind. Would be interesting if anyone could work out the cars in the background when the 'heavies' try and cause grief at matey with the beard's workshop.
