Acura unfortunately didn't learn Mercedes' lesson about putting the engine size number before the model name. They should have stuck to real names instead of the alpha-numeric naming just because everyone else did it. Just makes it confusing to promote the model line.
Of course the engine size naming is coming back to bite several manufacturers now that they've had to use smaller engines to meet emissions and fuel economy standards. Customers assumed that BMW and Mercedes were downgrading their cars because the new models had lower numbers than the previous model, so now they're just sticking with the larger number even though it doesn't match the engine size.
