Yes, if you notice they have a similar but in fact different body. You can look at this interesting comparison made by Drive Australia, since their market received both models:

Although appearing nearly identical, I don't believe they have any body panels in common. Moreover, the i40 came out from a study of Hyundai Europe GmbH made together with BASF on new materials for interior and chassis, and is credited to have a completely reworked chassis, with a shorter wheelbase than the Sonata.
About the Getz/Click, I'm wondering if there was really significant imput by the Euro R&D center, which was just opened if I understand well what I'm reading? Personally I'd leave it as origin South Korea. Also we'd have to revert the model code to TB I believe.
I totally agree, at least unless we can get more proofs of Hyundai Europe's work on this model, but I believe you're right
