1) Apparently around 1960 (before Jaguar took over) Daimler wanted to put their new 2.5 litre V8 into a saloon so hatched a plot to build modified PA Crestas as the Daimler DN 250, and created prototypes. These were crushed after Jag buy-out, with the project switching to putting the engines into a version of the Jag Mk2 as we know. (They also tried putting the related 4.5 litre V8 into Jag Mk.Xs, which apparently went very fast indeed, but that idea died, although it briefly inspired Rootes to try dropping Sunbeam Tiger engines into Humber Super Snipes).

So this is the story of a bloke who decided to build his own DN250 recreation.
