Yeah, on this forum would be good. I think I see most everyone from the comments here in the forum.

Can we also have a mandatory log in before posting? It would help eliminate a lot of the anonymous posts when someone forgets to log in.

Actually only some sections are allowed to anonymous. For the "contributions" it is better so people do not hesitate to use it (else they may not want to register).

I have added the "archive comments" feature that I mentionned this morning and earlier.
At the same time, I added a feature to easily delete several comments at a time if there is a flood/spam on the site.
I ask to the admins to be very careful with these new things... as I did not test that very much  (though it seems to work).
About archiving comments, I think that it is better to wait few days before archiving comments on a page, to be sure that the off-topic discussion is ended and won't start again.
It is also better to try to select the comments to archive in a way that the remaining comments keep their meaning for visitors of the site.
Well, as there are not many pages concerned by this, I will maybe be the only one to use this function actually.

Merci, Antoine.

And now in English ( )

As I do not like to delete things forever (actually when I have to throw things away it is the same, I usually keep lots of things), I created a functionnality to archive comments. Archived comments still exist in the database, are (currently) stored at the same place as normal comments, but they are not visible on the pages "vehicles of a movie" and "details of a vehicle".
On the other hand, they are still visible on the pages that show all comments and user comments.
You can see these comments through the new link called "see the N archived comments", example on http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=35492
As I said earlier, it allows to have clean pages for the new visitors. Because it is a little a big mess all these Ford/Citroën comments, or those where everybody tells his life (some do that more than others).
To archive comments (i.e. "hide" them) you just have to check the boxes ont he right of the concerned messages and click on the "archive" button at the bottom of the page.
To archive them to nowhere, there is the deletion button (to use a priori only for floods/spams, i.e. repeated really usesless or advertising messages).
You can, in the case of a mistake, unarchive a message by checking the box on the archive page, e.g. http://www.imcdb.org/yourcomments.php?archiveforvehicle=35492 for the page that I gave the URL above.
Here is it, is it detailed enough? Or did I forgot someting?

Merci Antoine.

NOT TRUE! I get Tempos and Topaz' 90% right. Same with Explorers. :kaola:

Yeah and these represent the 10% right

As discussed on another page, I added the "country" fields for vehicles:
http://forum.imcdb.org/forum_topic-1010-New_fields_for_this_week_end.html
This morning I added a page split for the vehicle search result when viewed as list instead of thumbnails, as it was too huge for major makes (especially Ford).
Edit: I change what was said here, now to see the vehicle without country, use one of the following links:
http://www.imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&origin=
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?origin=

I also added a drop-down list that allows to switch between "list" view and "image" view for vehicle pages, without having to re-enter details on the search page.
I guess it is easier to check countries of vehicles of each make, as these countries are displayed in "list" view.
Later I will extend that to movie pages, to allow to see the movie contents as a list (it can be useful to check the "class" and country of the vehicles of a movie).

Done.
I also added countries to the stats page ( http://www.imcdb.org/stats.php?type=countries )

I do not want to be critical, but I just can not get used to the place of this box.. it leaves huge empty space between title, contributors and pictures... Shouldn't it be placed somewhere else?? :ohwell:

Actually it should be placed on the same line as the contributors, it would be better I guess (well, maybe not on small screens). I left that for later as it was later and I wanted to watch an episode of Stargate SG-1
I was planning to arrange that tomorrow, as I also have to add a list to change the sort order. I'll maybe put these lists at the bottom rather than at the top. Or make them hidden by default (so they take less space, with just an icon that allows to make the drop-down list visible).
