Pics, specially made for IMCDB-fellows

Rochefort is one of the strongest trappist beers you can buy, 11.3 alc, it's not surprising she doesn't like it, you have to learn how to drink it.
I used to have two a night, aftertaste or not, but to make the day after more pleasant I've switched to Omer, a simple pils beer like Stella, only done right.

Carlsberg Elephant is not that strong at 7.5 %. If you prefer the blonde beers, a Duvel will be better, or a Westmalle Tripel blond, or the Karmeliet...
But I'll try the Elephant if I see it.

Those specialty fruit beers nobody really drinks. Unless you mean Rodenbach, certainly an acquired taste but not bad. Very sour as it's riped in oak barrels.

For the common German beer-taste (the alc.level is between 4,9% and 5,2%) the "Elephant" is strong.
Two weeks ago I tried "Grimbergen blonde", but this has also that odd aftertaste, so I turned back to "Elephant."

The last months I used to have the Polish "EB" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbrewery ), a bit for family-reasons: my father's family lived there until Jan 1945.
But a Polish guy told me, that their beer for the German market is different than the original, lighter and less bitter. When I'd been in Poland some years ago, I've noticed that the beer there is stronger than here (over 6% alc).

The beverage-store in the next town has a good sortiment, also of foreign beers, but it's not that wide as in your next bigger town Gent:

About beer, riped in oak-barrels: last year in Scotland I've discovered such - and it was great! Smoky, but smooth and not bitter. But I couldn't find it in supermarkets, only in the tourist-shop of the "Highlander"-movie prop ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eilean_Donan )

Maybe it was available here: http://www.ayrshirebeerfestival.co.uk/

Unfortunately it was not possible, to combinate the last IMCDb-user-meeting with tht event, although it was in the middle between dsl-town and my stay at

Ingo, you showed rjluna2 the lights from a lighthouse. Now I'll show him one:

That's at Montauk Point!

And this is apparently what they use now:

For rjluna2:

I don't know if it can be useful to you but since a Toyota Prius made disappear half of the Corvette i wanted to catch it lost a lot of interest for me and i almost deleted the pic. Then i saw the traffic lights were visible so i thought that you could be interested. Location is boulevard St-Elzear W / boulevard Daniel-Johnson corner, Laval, Québec. If for any reason you don't want it, just tell me and i'll delete the post

It is certainly an unusual traffic signal lights with double red lights as in horizontal position, Baube. Usually they are used for bridge underpass where the height are at premium

I dreamt that I had a remote powered light bulb many years ago (Circa 1974). I had inspiration on this dream, I drew and wrote a story about the remote power light bulb along with my imagination of West Germany  :
...
Enjoy!

Nice story - but I must admit, that I didn't understand it completely :shy:

Spotted today in the lobby of a superstore in Dortmund.

There are three displays about the history of coal-mining (typical for the Ruhr Area, but since the late 80ies it's nearly completely over). As it seems, the exhibits are from a private collection. This display was about the history of the miner's lights.

 great!

...but surely the owner has nothing to do with my K 70 - there is not any single K 70 in Canada, except one restoration-object in or around Toronto, a car brought in the 70ies from Germany of the owner's father.
