For these I can't do anything automatically: We have to decide to use one or the other, and then fix manually the remaining ones.

Is that right?
I remember that we fixed some problems with the S-10 Blazer incorrectly listed as Blazer [S-10] but I do not remember what was said for the other ones.

S-10 Blazer <> Blazer
Before 1995 the "Blazer only" weren't S-10, they were K-5: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_K5_Blazer
They dropped the S-10 from the name when they stopped the K-5.
So [S-10] for the Blazer-only (and [S-15] on the Jimmy) would be right only for 1995+, but as I said above I am not sure it is fully right: were these codes still used even internally by GM?

[GMT560] for GMC Topkick.

It rather seems that 530 is for both Chevy & GMC 2nd gen, and 560 for both Chevy & GMC 3rd gen

^ As a not for the above, we seem to use UN150 for some later UN105 shape Explorers: http://imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=Ford&model=UN150&modelMatch=2&modelInclChassis=- on

I suspect it is for 1998-01 models, with the 1995s being incorrectly listed (a couple of those look like 1998 or later models anyway).

The 231 BMW 5 [E34] of the 8 first pages dedicated to this model are at least 1988 models, as explained by S 415 GT
Shouldn't they have this MY, or is it better to leave the year blank?

For BMWs, Mercedes, etc. (any car that has a chassis-code identifying its generation) it is not very important to have the model year. It is more important for cars that carry the same model name through several generations/models without having a chassis-code to regroup them.
So in this particular case, I think it is better to leave the year blank rather than putting 1988 for all, as many may be later models (restylings in the generation).

GMC "mass" renaming? With "Pickup" as complement?

GMC C/K-Series
  - for these 1960+ 29 trucks (although some may be Chevrolet trucks and some other can't be really identified).
Plus:
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_235050-GMC-Pickup.html (IMHO, should be in the GM C/K-Series page, in fact. Unless someone is 100% sure to see a double headlights set...)
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_482692-GMC-Pickup.html
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_86471-GMC-Pickup.html

1955-59 GMC Blue Chip for:
- 22 trucks
(but certainly not as a Pickup, even as complement, for this one, which should have a "Chassis + cab" category. And not as a ½-ton, as it has at least a 1½-ton payload, if not a 2-ton one  )
Plus:
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_240372-GMC-Pickup.html (with a Chevrolet Task-Force medium-duty 2 trucks behind...)

1947-55 trucks, said to be "New Design" by the Stovebolt crew and Tim Lederman, but the latter belongs to the crew...
GMC Truck History (pdf) from GMHeritageCenter.com just say "restyled Chevrolet 'Advance Design' cabs" (p.20).
So, if we keep it, GMC New Design for:
  - 23 trucks. Except this one, which is more likely a Chevrolet.
Plus:
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_273631-GMC-Pickup.html
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_456726-GMC-Pickup.html
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_441632-GMC-Pickup.html
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_426832-GMC-Pickup.html
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_90005-GMC-Pickup.html
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_85226-GMC-Pickup.html
  - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_42854-GMC-Pickup.html

Whatever the name choice is, and as for Advance-Design trucks, 1948 models should be set with a 1947 MY.
