I think I finally figured out what this is. It looks very much like a Twin Coach 23S with a Lawrie body and would have been brand new at the time of filming.

The bus is totally different* according to the pictures Raul1983 posted. It would not be fair to label it as such.

*the entirely slanted front end (not just a slanted grille), width, side windows, windshield, roof, overall shape.

Maybe it's not specifically a 23S but I bet it's some sort of Twin Coach with a Lawrie body. That's a '34 Ford and a '35 International Harvester, respectively.

Or I could be wrong about the chassis and it's a Lawrie body on something else entirely. The grille seems to be the key.
