06/06/2007 @ 00:51:02: sam: Can you identify this dashboard?
I am still trying to identify cars (and movies) used in
La Classe américaine. One of the last images I have only features part of the dashboard, making it pretty difficult...
I have identified the car radio as being a Blaupunkt Frankfurt (as can be seen for instance on
this image). But I have no idea what the car might be.
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated!

My best guess is that it's a Volkswagen of some sort(the brake and clutch pedals are a giveaway), possibly the standard Type 1(Beetle, Bug, Fusca, etc.), unless somebody can give me evidence to the contrary.

Ddey65, you mean the attached image or the link "this image"? The link is from a VW site, so it is probably a VW indeed
(the link would suggest a '66 Squareback).
On the attached image, there is something above the radio, so I suppose that it is another car.

The dashboard is from an Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider. It's the metal painted dash, the chrome rimmed 3 gauges above the radio that are slightly angled towards the driver, and the wide padded edge along the bottom of the dash, that give it away.
The dashboard in the other link that you put up as an example, is indeed a Volkswagen: an early Type 3, so possible a Squareback, Notchback or Fastback, but since the link is indeed mentioning 66Squareback, I guess that's what it is...

Hi, just a quick update to close the thread: the movie is The Arrangement (
http://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?id=64041) featuring Kirk Douglas and Faye Dunaway and the car is a white Duetto.

He's Right, it is a 1966 Volkswagen Squareback. I like the 1600 TL Compacts Better, though!
