Subject: How do I reach you ?
03/01/2008 @ 21:03:01: transexl: How do I reach you ?
Hi there !

As many of you have VERY interesting profiles I was wondering how to write you a message ?

I have not found a list of members (with e-mail-listings or similar...).

What did I miss/not comprehend ?

You can write us a private message here on the forums. Most of us have the same usernames on the forum as we do on the site, so feel free to send a PM.

THANKS fordguy !!!!!

And why do you need to send us messages? If you have something to say, just start a thread on the forum so we can all read it.

Hi G-MANN,

I donĀ“t HAVE to, I would like to !

And maybe you are right - you just tel me wether

1 - YOU are interested

2 - it is worthwhile for everybody else when:

I would like to know what engine the Morgan Three-Wheeler had that "Alexander" (admin, Germany) has had about 25 years (Alexander, bist Du so "alt" ? Sorry wenn nicht !) ago. And what "tail" it had. And how it was to drive. And for how long he has had it.

And please let me know wether Alexanders reply - should he not mind to give one (!!) should be "public", i.e. in a thread and not a pm.

If so - I will post a thread. After YOUR decision. Thanks !

stefan

Still:
a list of all members would be useful - is there one that I did not see ?

Currently there is indeed no way to contact directly someone, except if he has put a mail/web link in its profile.
As said above, private message here on the forum may work for some members. I do not know if Alexander often comes here though.
I should add a possibility to send e-mail to members (with option for not accepting these), that's still on my to-do list.

Hi Stefan,
I do check the forum fairly regularly and there is also a possibility to send private messages (even in German which I don't use when I write in public).

But I don't mind answering here. You must have understood something wrong, as the 'engine' were my very own legs! It was a special kind of tricycle I had as a kid -- more than 25 years ago ...

Incidentally I wrote about it only yesterday: http://forum.imcdb.org/forum_topic-1588-18742-First_car_you_ever_drove.html#p18742

Cheers,
Alexander

.....aaaaaaaaahhrgh !!

Illusions shattered, hopes diminished, images destroyed -
"`t was but a toy" !!!!!!

DANKE, Alexander !!!

I should read more carefully, I see.... .

Even so, to start your automotive career in THAT way - WOW ! - I never even HAD a "pedal-car" !!!!
(Must be the reason for ME switching to bikes and YOU taking up with your impressive vehicles... ).

@antp (Antoine, right ?):

I brought up the topic of a "list of all users"/a direct "link" to PM-"adresses" because in at least two forums I know it is very easy to find a certain user (through a list AND a "search"-function), just click and send a PM directly.
I was quite confused NOT to find this item in this forum.

If it is already on your list and not too much work - I think this would be a sensible way to enhance "user-friendlyness"...
THANKS for the good work anyway !

stefan

(...to be quite frank: I also wondered why there is no linkage between the forum and the site - i.e. when you click a user-name in the site you get to the "profile" - when you click it in the forum, you sometimes get no/different information... .)

I do NOT want to create the impression of me getting here and already complaining, even more so as I am NOT, as I said, a computer friend/expert and am very dependent on (and grateful for) the work of people like you !!!
I am confused and am not sure I understand everything !!!

@antp (Antoine, right ?):

yes

Actually the forum is hosted on a different server, and not made nor managed by me (the current site structure/code was made by at 95%)
So there aren't internal links between the two, unlike what many site do in similar cases. This is a little annoying indeed.
