Hi,
On Friday night, I was on Flinders Street in Melbourne with my family and saw two Ford Crown Victoria's (LHD) and a black Cyrsler 300C (LHD). All 3 cars had NY plates (fake) and looked new. They were on the back of tow trucks. Just wondering what movie they were going to be in? IMDB was no help

I think it could well be Knowing starring Nicolas Cage. Through the Film Victoria website, I found a press release about it.

Here's the IMDB entry for Knowing. The message board has several discussions about locations. There's a message about this weekend's filming - the mention of a fake subway entrance suggests that the film might be set in New York. What's more, I see from looking at Melbourne on Google Maps that the streets mentioned are all near Flinders Street.

They will be shooting at the AXA building on Colins street on Saturday and Sunday (12th and 13th) between 6:00am and 8:00pm each day. The AXA building will be setup to look like the enterance to a subway and there will be simulated accident in the subway. (Smoke etc) The AXA forcourt will be made out to look like a disaster scene. Market St between Flinders Lane and Colins St will be closed, as will westbound traffic along Colin Street between Queen and William St.
