I got this idea by the taxt-thread and the threads about the own cars or the cars of the parents.
I don't use rental cars by business, so I can remember -mostly- the rental cars I got in my vacations or for other private reasons.
- 1995, after a breakdown with my NSU 1200 C: Opel Corsa A
- 2007, after a breakdown with my Opel Omega: 2007 Toyota Corolla A. It was for free for me as a ADAC-member (similar like AA in GB and AAA in the US). I was surprised about its high fuel consumption and it was stinking as hell. A strong smoker had it in use before.
- 1993 on Corfu/Greece: Suzuki SL 410 (junk in worse condition)
and in the next week a Suzuki Swift (Geo Metro in the US)
- 1993 in Denver/USA: Chrysler Saratoga (lame duck)
Then I made "autodriveaway" across the US. during 20 days I made the journeys:
1.Denver-St.Louis with a Ford Explorer (unbelievable dirty car, a civil car from the railways police).
2.St.Louis-Houston with a Ford Taurus
3.Houston-Sacramento with a Chrysler(Dodge?) Yoager
4.St.Francisco-St.Paul with a Buick (name? It was a 6cyl, 3.0 liter, but not a Park Avenue
5.St.Paul-Philadelphia with a 1985 Pontiac Le Mans (same base like the European Opel Ascona C).
- 2002 Cyprus: VW Polo Classic
- 2003 South Africa: Renault Megane (the most south lost Renault-hubcap in Africa was ours, lost at Cape Agulhas)
- 2006 Easter Island/Chile: a small Daihatsu 4x4, which name I cannot remember. It was not a jeep, more similar to a Renault Megane Scenic, but smaller
- 2008 East Coast of the USA: 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. I said "popemobil" to it ("Urbi et Orbi")
