The time tags show which point in the film the still was taken from, antp usually adds these to his images, I don't know how many other members add them, I've started adding to some of my films, but does anyone really use them? Do you use the function that lists the vehicles in order of time?

I was not aware you could organize them by time. How is this done?

In the Display Options at the top of the page, you can sort the vehicles by "Apparation (ep + time)", this sorts them by time, of course this only works if time tags have been entered.

Coopey also sets these tags.

I have used them in the past. But when I was starting downloading movies, it was not accurate anymore. Some movies are 30 minutes says VLC...

Now I take so many pictures and choose the best afterwards. It's a hell of a job to write down the timestamp for each picture. I wish VLC can do that for me (in filename perhaps).

I do that when saving the file, as MPC/WinDVD prompt for the filename anyway.
I wish they could use timetag as default filename though :ohwell:

What i always do is to see the movie and take the captures as i see it, so just like Garco says at then end of the movie i can choose from all the angles ive taken for a car which one's the best to submit as main picture, today for example i did it by submitting the car as it was appearing in the movie, but it takes longer because you add the car at the first place and seconds later you see that there's a better angle so you have to change it again and change the time tags again, its not comfortable to do, that's why ive never done it :ohwell: though that this doesnt mean that i dont think that it is a good idea, which it is...

I do not see what it has to do with timetags, though  I have a list of capture files, with the time tag in the name, I chose which pic to upload among these and type the time tag at that time.

But because you have to type a name for the picture, thing that you dont have to do with VLC, in VLC you just take the capture and it is saved automatically on the folder you set on the software.

Yes. Anyway I found VLC so annoying for screenshot, as when you pause video it still advance few frames, and you cannot move frame by frame easily.
08/06/2008 @ 20:13:17: CarChasesFanatic: Does anyone look at time tags?
yes that's very annoying, specially for many angles in where a car is seen well but very fast so you have to go back over and over again, not to mention for ar chases...

I tried to do tags on my last two movies. I thought it would make it take longer but it didn't. When I save images i usually do Truck 1, Truck 2, etc. Saving the file name with the time allows me to not to have to do that....so if people prefer having the time tags, i'll keep doing them from now on.
