Did anything ever get decided on if a search on a model e.g. [ado16] would be possible by clicking on the [ado16]? (see http://imcdb.opencommunity.be/index.php?page=forum_topic&id=76&index=1 )

Still having to use Model:Contains on the http://www.imcdb.org/search.php page :halalala:

[ado16] isn't appearing anywhere on the http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&makeMatch=2&make=&modelMatch=- 0&model=ado16&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=on&page=2 page :ohwell:

Chassis name is displayed only for some makes, where the chassis is an important info used for most of the models. For others it is displayed only in detailed page.
For the search, it is not so easy: BMC is a special case. For most of the makes the chassis search must be done within the same make. I'll have to use extra tests for that, but I will do that change when I will add the "Mk" field.
You have to select to view the result as list to see all info. In the Thumbnails only major info are displayed, to keep the names not too long.
i.e.: http://www.imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&makeMatch=2&make=&modelMatch=- 2&model=ado16&modelInclChassis=on
then you directly see all, the Mk, the Chassis, etc.

With Estates we need to stick to correct names e.g. :-

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Austin_model-1300+Estate.html

s/b http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Austin_model-1100+Countryman.html

As per my comment on the relevant page.

Also as we add "Countryman" to Estates, shouldn't we add "Saloon" to sedans?

You mean that the real name was "Countryman" and not "Estate"?
About the use of "Saloon", I guess that it was not generally used? It is like for most saloon cars, the basic name is for the saloon and then they add "estate", "wagon", "break" or something else for the estate version...

I do, but only for Austin

Yep, I see, but adding "Saloon" would make list easier/fuller.

The Austin estates had the extra name 'Countryman', but the saloons had no extra name next to the engine capacity (1100/1300/etc.) or before the A** (A30,A40,etc.) notation.

True; I'm just suggesting clarification which might help if you have a list or want to search for a partcular vehicle.

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&makeMatch=2&make=&modelMatch=- 0&model=farina&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=on

includes "Farina", but car usually just called A40. Farina helps to sort out from say the Devon.

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Innocenti_model-A40+Berlina.html

Berlina is just Italian for Saloon I think?

Maybe that for these the "Berlina" was really used in the commercial name?

http://www.imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=Austin&model=A- 40+%5C%27Farina%5C%27

In above example names are all "jumbled"

Where actual car was an "Austin A40 MkI Countryman"; it appears as "Austin A40 'Farina' Countryman MkI [ADO8]". Could we have 'Farina' at end with ado8 rather than in middle?

Quite a few ado16s are listed as hatchback but should be saloon (sedan). e.g. http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=72066

I'll fix these.
The mk1 is at the end because it is how the site lists the "mk" numbers, currently it will stay like that (someday I may improve/change that)
