Is anyone else here an X-files fan? I sure am, it's arguably my favorite show and I've seen every episode of every season. There's just so much to love about it. Sci-fi monsters, mysteries, murders, FBI conspiracies, aliens, and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are just such great actors and play such creative characters (not to mention that agent Scully is quite attractive :bave: ) Some episodes even have some pretty good cars too. Being a show set in the 90s and 00s about FBI agents, obviously there is no shortage of Crown Victorias and Caprices, which of course I love. I paticularly remember one episode that opened with a car chase between two late-80s Caprice cop cars and a mid-80s Buick Century (incorrectly refered to as a "silver Ciera" in the episode) The cars were literally flying over hills on this very winding road, it was sooooooo great... :bave:
In fact, if I recall correctly, the series actually had so many cars that it's in the top 20 TV show/Movies that have the most cars listed on the site (check the statistics page to see its ranking)

Anyway the reason I'm bringing this up is becuase a new X-Files movie is coming out soon and I'm so pumped for it! :sol:
If anyone has any info on the show, movie, episodes, cars, characters, or just wants to talk about the series in general, I'll be here. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about this wonderful and timeless TV series

Oh yeah, and just for reference, my favorite episode is entitled "Bad Blood". It is the one where Mulder and Scully each tell the story of the episode from their own point of view, it's quite funny really

I've never been in interested in that series (as in most others, too), but my wife loved it. She's the opinion, that David Duchovny is cute and sexy!?!?

But in the last years it was getting better - so before our moving she allowed me to sell the whole X-Files-edition-stuff, we had on video and DVD at eBay.

Same with my mom, she's crazy for him

I saw it advertised at the cinemas today-looked cool! I hope to see it.

Ah, many years ago me and my dad would stay up and watch this when it was on British analog. We thought the movie was cool too, I even bought him an X-Files novelty cup. Never get tired of that opening theme!

Not only is William B. Davis not in it, they put Xzibit too. From what I read from the few that saw it already at press screenings they said it was the worst thing to ever have the X-Files name. One said that Scully did a decent job but didn't make up for many other flaws. I loved the TV series, at least the first 5 or so seasons.

The thing I didn't like about X-Files were many of the stand-alone episodes that had nothing to do with the larger story. I really hated how Mulder and Scully would be really wrapped up in the conspiracy and then the next episode there in some rural town investigating some monster. They don't talk about what they just went through or even mention it. I think it would be really great to watch all the story episodes in a row.

Probably one of my favorite stand-alone episodes was Kill Switch in season 5. I love when Mulder and Scully get in the car and Twilight Time by The Platters starts playing. I love that part.

He was Skinner, right? Or the cigarette smoking man?

Hmmm... that's too bad. :ohwell: Oh well, I will still see it and form my own opinion.

I'm disappointed because I liked the show a lot. I just really haven't been too happy with newer movies these days for the most part (there are a few exceptions like There Will Be Blood).

William B. Davis is the cigarette smoking man yes. He just finished a part in another movie according to imdb so I wonder why he didn't want to do X-Files?

Well if you remember back, he kind of died in a firey explosion in the last episode, so that's probably why he wasn't in the movie

Haha, very good point! I never saw that episode so I didn't know that. Once Mulder wasn't on the show anymore I stopped watching it for the most part.

I saw the movie today. I don't see what everyone thinks is so horrible about it. There could have been more action I guess, and the plot was not really that alien-based either but the film was ok overall. I'd give it 5 or 6 on the ratings scale. I liked Scully's white 2008 Taurus, it was a quite a beauty

Also has anyone ever noticed that only Russian doctors are ever portrayed as the ones who do all these horrible inhumane medical experiments on people? I guess it dates back to the Cold War days and the fear of Communism, but I think it seems a little cheesy now
