hello, a friend of mine said there was a movie that came out in the early seventies about a funny car driver going around to towns and husseling money or something along those lines. All i can find even close is funny car summer but he says thats not it. Then he thought it was endless summer but that is a surfing movie. He said the guy ends up getting killed in the end of the movie, and that it is kinda similar to the way on any sunday was made. Any help would be awesome.

Sounds to me like "Two Lane Blacktop". Story is about two guys drifting around the country making money on grudge races with a black primered "55" Chevy street machine. Warren Oats plays a supporting role in the film. Story is kinda of weak, but good racing scenes from back in the day. James Taylor (who can't act) stars in it along with some woman who's name escapes me now. Don't think they get killed in the end. Think they just drive off into the sunset. Worth a look once. I think Netflix carries it. Hope this helps.
