Hi everybody!
I'm going to provide car pictures from 80's Yugoslavian TV series called "Sivi dom". It has 12 episodes, and I'm going to provide pictures of cars that appear in each episode. Some cars are used in more than one episode (I will mark them). I can't decide which pictures are good for the site, so I'll put all of the pictures i captured here, and you can decide which one is the best to put on a website.

Series was filmed during the fall of 1984. until late summer 1985., first broadcast was in January 1986. Literally translated, "Sivi Dom" means "Gray home", which is a metafore for situations in proteges minds - thay just don't know how to change their lives.

This TV show shocked entire Yugoslavia, and gained extreme popularity in all Yugoslav repuplics - from Slovenia to Macedonia. Even now you can se re-runs in all ex-YU republics.

4. IMV 1600 - also one of the last series, but it is not the same as one from the first episode - #2 had police license plates, and this one (#4) has civil plates. 2 stars:

6. Peugeot 104 - used as a replacement for a GL, as a stunt car in a car chase. You can tell that this is another car by looking at the hood and front right wing - they're damaged. Unknown year, 3 stars:

36. Volkswagen Golf mk1 - white car on the sidewalk, assembled in TAS. All Golfs in Yugoslavia were assembled there. Unknown year, 1 star:

- the white Golf I is 1982, surely made in YU

- the yellow Golf I probably, too, 1979+ for sure

- wasn't the Lada named Riva only in the UK? In West-Germany it was called Nova, in the GDR 2105.

- 1968 Mercedes W 115

- yes, a 504

- seems to be a Polski Fiat. It has chrome bumpers, but the colour seems later than the times, it was made in Italy.

- I would agree with 1307

But remember don't repeat the same car (i.e. IMV 1600; Citroen CX 20-"sanitet"; Peugeot 104 -well, here two, the real one and the used as stund car-, etc...). I saw "add movie" option, but as I have a lot of pictures of same car and I can't decide which one is the best, I prefer to use old system - put images here, and then admins can choose which ones are suitable for putting on a website. Plus,



- some cars appear in several episodes and sometimes I can't decide which car is blury and too small to be listed (I sat on my googles few days ago and broke them ), so I put everything here, and admins can decide are they going to put them on the site or not. I know that it's a pain-in-the-ass for admins (I'm admin on one forum too ) .

It was also named Riva in Yugoslavia. Ladas that were imported in YU were better than ones sold in USSR, so it was common to see Russians coming to Yugoslavia to buy a used Lada - you don't have to wait plus used Ladas were nuch cheaper un YU rather than USSR(used Ladas were never expensive in YU).



All 126's in YU were from Poland, they came trough consignation, and they were sold as "domestic car", which ment lower taxes and ability to buy them for yugolsavian dinars. Cars that were imported regulary had higher taxes, ad you had to pay some part of the price or the entire amount in foreign currency. For example, if you wanted to buy a Mercedes, you had to pay for it in Deutsche Marks, for Peugeot you had to pay in franks etc. These makes were coming trough consignation and could be bouht for dinars (data from 01st of april 1980.):

Getting foreign currencies was hard (due to recession that stroke Yugoslavia in 80's), so buying cars for dinars was very popular. Only makes that had poor sale were Moskvitch, Volga GAZ and ZAZ, due to it's poor quality and affordable western substitutes, especially Golf.

DonSergio, are you going to submit the rest of episodes 9 to 12 in a short time? The reason is if I upload the TV series to the last complete pages or I wait until you finish it.
