Last weekend I had the opportunity to see the final of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. It was incredible, how the pilots handle their aircraft. An Air Gate, for instance, has a width of 13 m (42.7 ft) while the wingspan of a plane is appr. 8 m (26.2 ft). They approach the 1st Air Gate at a speed of 370 km/h (230 mph).
