I'm wondering, I'm maybe having a chance to buy a '89 FIAT Regata in February 2012 .. are there any differences on the lights or body or things? Is the '89 different then '84 - '87 ?
Just wondering I love the '83 - '87 look as ive only seen these model years and I haven't seen any '89s.

This is the 1983-1985 model
and this is the 1986-1990 model:
As you can see, it has different doorhandles, wheelcovers and bumpers; but also the engines changed in the 2nd series

To find one, I recommend to ask the Fiat Enthusiast's Clubs. They will have the best tips.
On the regular used-car-market there are nearly no Regata's left. Here the actual European offers: http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/search.html?usage=&isSearchRequest=true&editSearch=- &lang=de&export=NO_EXPORT&sortOption.sortOrder=ASCENDING&damageUnrepaired=NO_DAM- AGE_UNREPAIRED&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&scopeId=C&makeModelVariant1.- makeId=8800&makeModelVariant1.modelId=31&maxPrice=&minFirstRegistrationDate=&maxMileage=- &fuels=&ambitCountry=&zipcode=
Very overpriced in my opinion! Normally the Regata's belonged to the cars (as many other Fiat's, especially Sedan's) with absolutely no value as used cars.
@Skoda1988: Stay cool, have patience and make closer connections all around. With that you'll be successful sonner or or later.
Don't go panicially on the search.

In Italy they cost around 500€ for not perfect cars and at max 1.500€ (but it's a really high price) for almost perfect exemplary:
