All,

I am trying to remember a movie, late 80's I think, that had a custom yellow buggy driven by the main character. If I remember correctly, the movie took place near a beach, probably an ocean side city. I think the main character was some sort of detective/private eye. He was chasing after some guys and drove over top of some cars in a parking lot. I think the buggy was yellow with tubular frame/chassis and had larger tires. Anyone remember the movie and/or the vehicle?

Thanks in advance!

Right idea, but not quite it. It wasn't a traditional volkswagon based sand dune buggy. If I remember correctly it had a pretty short wheelbase, maybe only room for the driver, and probably four wheel drive. I think all of the tires are the same size, quite large, perhaps airplane tires or simialr.

Sorry for my shoving in in this thread, but I want to share my today's catch with you  The following auto-quartet I've purchased for a real fair price on a classic car market in Holland. It was in fact a random catch, its real rarity I've realized first at home. I've bought some stuff for the COMECON-car-fan of my plate-forum and got this quartet in my hands. I've only seen, that a card with something NSU-ish is included, so I took it for a NSU-friend. Back home I've seen "Oh, it's complete". Then "Oh, it's with the original undamaged box" and finally, when I've found the flyleaf "Woah! It's from Piatnik!" The quartets of this Austrian company always reaching incredible prices at eBay. Once I've tried to get one with a K 70-card included. My max.price has been 12 € - it was sold for around 80 €!

Anyways, here the pics:

P.S. Am I right, that 7c is wrong? It's named "Rover Rodeo", but on the car is a sticker "Bronco", and it's shape looks Bronco-ish, too.

You are correct. 7C is actually a picture of a very special Ford Bronco called "Big Oly" built by Bill Stroppe. This truck really is the birth of what off-road race trucks are today. See the links below for more info about this truck and Bill Stroppe. The truck still exists today!!
