This car is historically significant and extremely low-production. It is the first time a "pony car" was used by a police organization for regular patrol / pursuit duty in the USA (1971-1979). It was special-ordered by the Alabama Department of Public Safety for use by the State Troopers. Only 71 cars were built in 1971, and 61 in 1972. This film feature a 1971 model in a few scenes, always in the background and never moving... but it is not a movie car- it is a real police car borrowed for the film.
