Subject: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts

As first my question: will anyone going there (beginning this afternoon until Sunday)?
http://www.siha.de/tce_uk.php?m=0&ms=

The Techno Classica is one of the biggest classic-car-shows in Europe. I will go there on Friday.
For over 10 years our club had made a presentation there together with the other VW-Clubs, but we stopped it 4 years ago, because the work and time (incl.building up the presentation two days before, it had cost 5 days of vacations) was not worth enough for our club. And at least I had done the most engangement, because I'm living as closest. This was getting too much after the time.
Anywys, it's a good chance to look around in the scene and meet friends again (and surely go on the search for collector's stuff).

The company SIHA also organizes the Antwerp Classic Salon. Maybe Antoine knows it, too. It's smaller, but good, too. The last years I hadn't the time to go there. But this is not too bad, because the majority of the dealers are always the same, you always meet them at these bigger events.
04/04/2009 @ 21:41:52: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
Yesterday I had been there for a few hours. Fortunately I could scrounge a exhibitor's-ticket, so I could go there for free and one hour earlier. This early hour in the empty halls I used to make several photos - also for you IMCDB-guys.
I really run along, to have look in every hall before it was open for the public.
I will post the pics soon, but this evening I'm too tired. My mother-in-law has opened the barbeceue-saison, so I have a full stomach and a little full head, too..

Tomorrow I'll go to a licence-plate-collector's meeting, so I will not be at home.

A propos plates: I just have loaded the pics from my camera to the computer and got nearly a heart rupture and a psychical meltdown at the same time (despite my overloaded paunch and my slightly drunken head).

During the download I've recognized suddenly, that I took -totally randomly- a pic of the probably one and only existing copy of a hyper-rare german plate, which hangs at a car, which is for sale.
It's a real insider, but this plate is rarer than a blue Mauritius for stamp-collectors. Rarer than the S.C.V.1 of the pope.
I have activated my connections to make a try to get it (if it's still there) tomorrow in the early morning.
I'll wait for the reaction of my "undercover agent", then I'll let explode a little bomb on the collector's convent.
Even if it wouldn't be possible to get the plate, just the photo will make the freaks hysterical.

Pictures pictures pictures...
05/04/2009 @ 00:52:12: marioman3138: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
@ingo, I'm a small time liscene plate collector, (30-40 plates not from any set area...) Do you want any pictures of certain plates?

I have some US, some of different Australian states, some random Arabic one (maybe you can help with that  ) and Singapore and Malaysia.
06/04/2009 @ 07:39:19: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
@CCF: i'll do, but right now I have to go work and no time for it.

And the plate-pics I will not post now. We are still busy about them and will not publish the pics, before the situation is cleared.

@marioman: if you could mail me pics, I can ask in my collector's forum. I'm not common with these plates, because some years ago I have reduced my collection. Now I'm only collecting old German plates, and only the former plates of towns and counties, which had lost their numbers in the 70ies.

All others, actual German or plates from other countries I have swapped or sold at eBay, except a few which have personal reminds for me (like the Canadian and US-plates I picked up there on junkyards in 1988 and 1991. Or the old Italian plates of my K 70).

I just want to show you a youtube about an Australian plate-collector, but I must see, that it is deleted. :ohwell:

O.k., let's start with some pics (but not of the plate, we're still fighting for it...)

Back again in 2009, ready for the TC in Essen:

The first pic, I made in front of the fair-area. @DynaMike: do you know it? The sticker in the back window was from a Citroen's world meeting in 2008:

And something rare from a museum in Reims:

This Citroen belongs to one guy/gay from the "Queerlenker", the first German oldtimer-club for gay and lesbian owners. Yes, this club exists since some years and is not small.

The Mustang Owners Club had made a Shelby-presentation:

The "service and spare parts mobile" of the Alfa Club:

which had presented quite modern cars:

Yes, I only took a few pics while running around the first hour between 9.00 and 10.00, because then it was closed for the visitors and only the exhibitors were alowed to be inside. And I had not much time at all, only 4 hours total. I needed also time too look for K 70-parts and talking with people, I know. If there aren't enough pics for you, you must come next year and look for yourselves.

A collection of pics specially for walter will coming soon, now I don't time for it.
Now one car for sale, he may be is interested in:

The price is not readable from this angle. I was 169.100 €

As first my question: will anyone going there (beginning this afternoon until Sunday)?

The dead topic is awaking! I'm suppose to be at Essen Techno Classica in Friday.
30/03/2011 @ 14:21:59: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
Hrrrmmmphhh, you are 2 hours to late! For getting a free ticket
I'll be there too, also on Friday - but the 2nd free entry-ticket, I'll get by Volkswagen Klassik, I've promised just one hour ago to my father-in-law. Sorry for that...

Do you have s strict time-corset or would it be possible to meet each other? This would be nice.
And I have to hurry on - I still have to sort out the classic car-magazine, I've promised to you.
30/03/2011 @ 21:34:47: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
O.k., I've sorted out the magazines for you. For DynaMike, too. Not really exactly, but everything, I've noticed on the first view, is separated.

P.S. You got mail!
30/03/2011 @ 21:47:24: 130rapid: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
Well, I don't know yet what is our Friday precise plan because I ride as passenger with my BMW club friend (actually he's one of founding fathers of BMW Club Poland). However we'll spend whole day on ETC, starting late morning-midday, after the (hotel) breakfast in Bochum.

More info in private email!
03/04/2011 @ 16:48:40: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
It was a busy day on the show, so I took only one photo

04/04/2011 @ 21:03:48: 130rapid: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
Ingo, great thanks to you for baby-sitting me  and yarning many interesting stories through this over 4 hours of our IMCDb members' small (two persons) meeting.
05/04/2011 @ 13:09:02: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
You're welcome

If you have some interesting pics for the others here, it would be nice, if you could show them. Of if Pawel maybe has some interesting ones (who had taken more? )
Except that above and of some plates for the plate-freaks, I haven't made more photos.

I go to this one most years.
07/05/2011 @ 13:09:48: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
I've planned for tomorrow to visit a smaller meeting in the seconf next town, but I have to go to mother-in-law's first 2011 barbeceue-party...

Anyways, there will be enough event left this year. The diary in my classic-car-magazine is full, you cannot visit all.

This is a must for me since 20 years http://www.oldtimermarkt-bockhorn.com/ and the following weekend we will have our K 70-club-meeting. Soon after that there will be meeting in my village, also in not more than 50km around there will be enough. For sure too much, that my wife will complain, if I would go to each.

Next weekend will be http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/beaulieu-events/spring-autojumble Ireally would like to go there, but this year I cannot arrange it with my vacations. As I wrote before, a visit there I would combinate with other things.

Let's see, the classic-car-season has just started for this year.
07/05/2011 @ 15:33:24: G-MANN: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
Events worth visiting for car enthusiasts.

If you are in the south of England, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival. (June/July and September every year).
31/05/2011 @ 19:34:52: ingo: Events, worth to visit for car-enthusiasts
Next Saturday I will be there again: http://www.oldtimermarkt-bockhorn.com/
For me the classic-car-event with the nicest atmosphere, enjoying every year for new. Except in 2005 I've been there every year - since 1991
