I saw this and thought of Lateef:

How to make a Scorpio look worse

The lights are from a late ZS/45, not a ZT as the seller says.

Unfortunately yesterday, at a tour to the big shopping center in the next town, I had no camera with me.

The whole way back, there was a hardcore-extreme-poverty-pimp-tuning car in front of us.

A Jetta II in bleached red, full with selfmade "chrome"-trims (the stuff from the roll), faked "VR6"-stickers, four(!!) sport exhaust-pipes -those on the right were just empty, 20cm long tin-rolls, hanging under the (self cutted) bumper- and many more funny gadgets...

A bizarre mongrel of tastelessness and poverty.

Barn find? Looks more like a lake find to me.

Thanks for the tipp, I've informed my fellows.
Freaky car, but in fact only the VIN-number for Mario's (www.teilethimm.de) statistics is interesting, according German regularities it is a hopeless wreck. No chance, to get a road-permission in this condition.

£600 !!!! Maybe £6.00 ....
11/11/2013 @ 00:33:10: Sandie: The eBay-Thread
This could well make less than that £600: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Humber-Sceptre-/190954654454?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2c75c8caf6 and seems to actually have the majority of the metal it started off with present.

As an aside, do we have any Maltese Hunters: http://tinyurl.com/nrr8wxf at IMCDb.
11/11/2013 @ 00:49:38: dsl: The eBay-Thread
I like the Sceptre. 4 recognised Maltese Hunters so far - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&yearFrom=&yearTo=&makeMatch=- 2&make=&modelMatch=1&model=hunter&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=on&origin=&madein=- MT&madefor=&role= . The Sandbaggers one - at least - does not have seatbelts. 1 probable Maltese Avenger as well, plus assorted Heralds, Cortinas etc - the full scorecard - http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&yearFrom=&yearTo=&makeMatch=- 2&make=&modelMatch=1&model=&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=on&origin=&madein=- MT&madefor=&role= .

French K70: http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/567902801.htm?ca=7_s

(Seen on a forum, I do not trawl the world searching for K70s.)

Thanks, I've shown it immediately to our French headquarter (a gang of Ch'tis). But I think, it's even a member, who offers this car. We have a Jonathan in this village.

Is this the Italian version? Parked since 1987: http://www.autoscout24.it/Details.aspx?id=238438835
14/11/2013 @ 21:43:52: ingo: The eBay-Thread
yes, it is. Thanks for the tipp! Not very cheap (o.k., the times have changed a bit) and dented, but I cannot see any glimpse of rust - which makes the car for us in Middle Europe interesting.

The colour is "alaskametallic" (electra225 likes it very much).

My brother-in-law will be in Exeter airport tomorrow at 15:00, pick up the car and go straight back via Dover/Calais. Hopefully his sprituality will not be damagaed, as there will be no tome to full up energy and emotions at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonehenge (when the take the A303)

Which is the best UK-page for the traffic situation? I want to give him tipps via mobile phone. He takes smartphone and laptop with him, but he feels a bit unsure, because he never drove by himself in the UK, so I want to support him.
16/11/2013 @ 15:58:30: ingo: The eBay-Thread
It's an absolute attention-getter, as my brother-in-law has experienced just since yesterday afternoon
Very nice driving, but he's a bit unhappy about some rust-bubbles (mainly around the part, where it was cutted and extended (by Nilsson).

Wow, it surely looks like an impulse buy... He drove all night with it from Exeter, ferry trip, through Belgium, to Germany? Someone should have talked him out of it.

I do see the rust which the seller failed to mention. On the whole 1500 euro is not too bad I suppose, not counting the plane trip.
18/11/2013 @ 08:27:48: ingo: The eBay-Thread
Well, it was not a real impulse buy, he already thought more or less intensively about these cars before and have checked others at eBay or autotrader.co.uk, but those only by Internet.
He was slightly pissed about the rust, the seller hadn't mentioned before and could arrange a discount of 200 Pounds.

Yes, he made the trip back nonstop, via the 22:00 ferry and then passing Pas de Calais in France, Antwerpen (I dhould have informed you before, that you could have spotted it from a bridge ... around 2:00 in the night..) , Eindhoven, Duisburg to his mother's home over here, all together 800km. The driving was o.k., the streets empty (the few others on the raods all made space for this extraordinary car  ), but the fog was ugly, all the way, in all countries...

Someone should have talked him out of it.

Why that??? Such crazy incidents are essential for a car freak's life! I'm a bit sad, that the did it alone, although I've offered my support before, because his English is not that good and he had no experiences neither with driving a RHD-car, nor driving in a left traffic country. And of course, I like such happenings very much
But he made it well - no problem for a long-time car- and bike-maniac, who participates at motorbike-races and works sometimes at driving-instructor for the police-school
18/11/2013 @ 12:19:05: atom: The eBay-Thread
Here in Sweden it's mostly 18 year olds that use these kind of cars to drink beer and party in them. I had a few beers with some guys from Värmland this summer that where dancing on the trunk of a 740 limo
18/11/2013 @ 16:35:11: ingo: The eBay-Thread
@chicomarx: if it would have been a http://www.coleman-milne.co.uk/used-cars-details/?uid=343 and if I would have been involved in that trip, there would have been the possibility, that on the way back we would have stopped at you to show you the newest catch.

But this car is out of any discussion, just for the price. Plus the fact, that neither my brother-in-law, nor me or anyone else in my family has any closer interest or knowledge about Saab.
19/11/2013 @ 00:20:35: chicomarx: The eBay-Thread
ingo, that's very thoughtful but I'm not a big hearse man. Black is a difficult colour.
I'm not at all close to Antwerp but Bruges which is more to the coast. A short drive from Cadzand beach (over the Dutch border) which gets swarmed by German tourists in summer.
