Why is the site so slow today? It takes about a minute to refresh a page compared to a few seconds usually.

At some points the site is slow if there are a lot of requests made by bots like those from Google.
Also, the database is becoming a little big for the current architecture. We hope that the next version of the site will solve that point.

There do not seem to be something special.
Possibly just Google or another search engine which explores it.
But the current architecture of the site reaches its limits with the number of vehicles listed which increases continuously.

Right now there is Bing+Yandex+Baidu indexing the site... well that explains the slowness
edit: and Google too. It looks like today is search-engine-indexing day.

why don't you or some other admin clean it up a bit
there are far too many things listed which shouldn't like some "docs" or reality TVs and hundrets of pages of unknown 1 star which are badly visible and hardly possible to ID

Site and forum are completely different. Hosted by different companies... in different countries: forum is in Belgium and site is in France.
So if both are slow at the same time there is more likely something between you and Europe

Around 7pm CET there was something that blocked the site for a minute or two (it happens from time to time, I'm still not sure what cause that and how to prevent it). Around what time did you notice slowdowns?

Sluggish for an hour or so and then crawled to a stop about the time (BST) of my 1st post, then quickly recovered as my 2nd post.

Nothing special in the log at that time, maybe there was just too much traffic on the server. Sometimes problems are due to the old phpbb forum of my site (antp.be) that I should replace/upgrade, but here it was possibly something else

I had the same problem yesterday around 0:00 although it was down just for several minutes... But also an hour ago I was unable to load properly the pages then slowly become impossible to open any page; this time instead, the fail was rather long (about 30/40 minutes)
