I realized there wasn't a thread for this.

Here you can post license plate-related links to any countries we don't have in our list yet, so here we go...

I'll just rename the one about AU & FR plates, that makes more sense

Martinique, or is it for France in general? http://www.eplaque.fr/plaque-immatriculation/france/plaque-immatriculation-martinique-972.html

I think they use the same system as the rest of France, so http://www.eplaque.fr/ would work the same way

Anyone got a link to the Italian immatriculation site that everyone keeps talking about?

A Polish site might be useful too.

Martinique is "just" a French overseas department using the same registration system than the Metropolitan France. Its department code is 972, but it doesn't mean anything any longer, as even someone living in Alsace or in Normandy can have this code on his/her plates.
Only New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Saint-Barthélémy, Saint Martin, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Wallis and Futuna, French Southern and Antarctic Lands and Clipperton Island use alternative systems.

Anyway, "your" site gives data in an illegal way: the specs and make of the vehicles related to the plates should be kept private by companies that can access to them and only used for internal (statistic or commercial) use. The French law (fr) is clear about it: only entitled people should see these data, not anyone browsing the Internet.
"Your" site incurs a 300.000 € fine (fr) for doing it that way, and you too by using these data in a website fully accessible to all...

The only public data are in fact the last letters given as plate number (see here, 2nd line, 3rd block, with "Chiffres" as title). All tables or figures you can find in the Net about 2009+ French plates should come from there or from observation in the street. But even that last case is dubious when displayed on the Net, I think, as it could certainly be seen as dissemination of personal data by some disgruntled people...

Keep in mind that I just list the laws that apply for now, this doesn't mean that I agree with them. Nor that I don't

@antp: even if the server is not in France (or is it?), I'd advise against including this site in the link list to avoid any potential trouble. Until next law change.

I doubt there is a risk linking it, but just in case I'll indeed not include it...

IMCDb is currently hosted in France (by OVH/Kimsufi). Maybe next time I change the server I'll host it in Canada, as they have that option.

I remember now that you already told me about the French OVH. I certainly lose too quickly and too much neurones per day

Back to more legal sites...

Bolivia: http://www.aduana.gob.bo/aduana7/placas2 (haven't got any results yet, but it doesn't ask you for a document you don't have, which is good)

Please remove Chile, Venezuela and Colombia from the list as they require "SOAP," "RIF" and "RUNT" documents that about 99% of the users probably won't have or know.
22/09/2015 @ 21:41:36: antp: Thread for posting new license plate sites
What do you mean by "any result yet"? I'll maybe wait before you're sure it works then

The link for Honduras doesn't work properly anymore, so here's a new one: https://placas.sinap.hn/vehiculos/

Indonesia, simple to use but it's super-glitchy on my computer - clicking on a different field redirects you to the homepage. And the digits won't show up when I type! Poland:[...]

This one requires to answer to a kind of captcha with a question written in Polish: not really useful / easy to use for those who don't speak Polish or don't have a translation plugin in their browser... Moreover, and unless I don't understand how it works or used a wrong part of it (which is indeed possible  ), it just check if a car with a specific plate number is up to date in his insurances contributions on a specific date, so the answer is just (more or less) yes or no. What's the usefulness of this for the identification of a car?

Do you seriously check the tools you suggest, Gamer, or do you just guess their use when you see a text field near the word "plate" written in a foreign language? For now, all the suggestions you made in this thread look like being non-functioning, almost impossible to use, useless or merely irrelevant...
18/10/2015 @ 09:39:13: Gamer: Thread for posting new license plate sites
I do check them - no adding without the check if it gives you information or if you need a document. That was the reason I had Chile, Venezuela and Colombia removed from the list, and I do agree that it was tedious to Google Translate the captcha...
19/10/2015 @ 09:22:04: antp: Thread for posting new license plate sites
I do check them

I'll not add them until confirmed by others then, to avoid having to remove them later when you discover they are not useable...

I don't know which browser you use (Internet Explorer?), but I faced problems on this site when using Firefox and derivatives or Chromium. It's not just a matter of invalid security certificates, as usual, but the browser also don't know how to handle the cyphering key of the plate part!
On my computer, it works only with Opera and some lightweight browsers (Midori and Arora), but it asks a lot of clicks to accept several "invalid security certificates". Really weird for a .gov.br site...

This said, and even if this website is primarily aimed at finding stolen vehicles, it does the job for the IMCDb as it gives the make, model and model year of the vehicle (among other details).
24/10/2015 @ 03:54:52: Baube: Thread for posting new license plate sites
was curious about the links section of the main site and saw http://app.cpic-cipc.ca/English/searchformlic.cfm for canadian licence plate. Not working if the car is not stolen, i tried with my license plate and got : no record found
