I was a bit surprised, that the Belgian aftersales marktet company Van Weezel also did make parts for COMECON-cars. The grille is for a late Wartburg 353 and the wing for a Moskvich.







My own catches were overseeable, but it was fine for me.




I've hoped to find the two French blokes again, which das a lot of doormats with car-motifs for sale, when I had been on that event some years ago. But obviously their business was closed down for copyright-reasons. All these motifs were "loaned" from car magazines and advertises. This was surely not legal.

Now something extremely obscure. It shall be a 1959, still with cable-haulage-brakes, styled in a late-1940ies colour, but the body looks much newer IMO, mid-60ies, I'd say. What do you think?

At first we thought, it was a trailer, but it isn't. Never seen someting like this before:

Going back to 03-10-16 posting of Belgian meet
1] lovely Super Imp. And the dealer sticker is from Marmite-town in jfs-county.
2] black Sunbeam hatch might be a Sunbeam-Lotus which has lost some badging and the silver panel side tapes. Has early grille and correct wheels. Or someone's building a lookalike.
3] Nice Luxembourg-plate Lotus Cortina - no boot badges suggests it might be alloy panels, which were dropped in mid-1965.
4] Red Sierra is Cosworth-lookalike based on early XR4 - proper ones did not have the extra pillar in rear side windows

And in latest instalment
5] that magazine bus RWC 607. Plate now on a 2003 BMW Z4 3.0i, but it did belong to a 1963 Bristol Lodekka for Eastern National
"RWC607 started life in 1963 as coach 1640, and was renumbered 2604 in 1965. In 1973 it was downgraded to bus duties (as 2936), losing the coach seats and luggage racks, and serving in this guise until September 1980, when it was sold to Eastern National Preservation Group member Ted Miles. Kept at Castle Point Transport Museum for many years, partially restored, it was finally restored to "as new" condition by now defunct Eastern National Engineering in New Writtle Street Chelmsford in 1990. Sadly, this rare and totally unique vehicle passed from preservation to dealer Carl Ireland in 1996, and then on to well known German dealer "Der Blickfang". Finally.... the fridays car show i went to in september.... Called " Les Chauds Vendredis " ( Hot Fridays ) , it occurs every friday from may to september ( unless Mother Nature says otherwise.. ) in the Quartier Laval parking lot . Really sorry for the variable quality of the pics , i hope to do better next year . Some of the cars were there in both Fridays ( and some even in Terrebonne ) which explains the same car but different date that some pics have as i had to choose the best ones . Still no explanation on how did i forgot to take pics of the 1958 Corvette...

Present in the parking were the ones involved in a nearly 50 years rivalry

1952-55 Minerva 80 from the Belgian army, based on the 80" (i.e 2.03 m wheelbase) Land Rover Series I. About 8,000 cars were made (fr, en).
According to the pictures present in this other English site (which is just a copy-paste of the already linked English article, without credits...), this Minerva has the grille badge of a late model.

From the little I know about the Käfer, this one has the 1958+ rear window, a pre-1964 plate light cover, pre-62 taillights and 1958-63 blinkers. The Wolfsburg's logo on the hood is indeed missing, but as all shiny trim has been removed from this car, I'm not sure that it should be used as a hint to identify a 1963+ vehicle...
So unless later modifications or additions (or details I missed ), all of these details indicate a 1958-62 model. Which matches with the 1959 MY you're talking about?

I always wondered if it could be a Franco-English pun with Chaud / Show (Les shows [des] vendredis)?

Got the chance to drive the BMW i3 for a 2-mile road test ( X5 Hybrid was also available for tests but had a waiting list longer that the SUV itself , Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt & Bolt and Mitsubishi I-Miev were also available ) . The test is free and only requires to have a driver license and being 25 or older
